Valerie didn't see Max after that and since there was nothing else to do, she bade her goodbyes to the head of the family and finally headed back to Ross's mansion.
On getting there, she found her 'beloved' sister weeping in her mother's arms while telling her part of the story in the way that favored her best.
Her father, Bernard, stood next to them with a frown and the moment Valerie walked in, he faced her harshly.
"What sort of nonsense have you been going on about?" He questioned. "How could you have done something so vicious to your sister and in front of so many dignified people? Do you really want to drag her name, as well as Ross to the mud?"
Valerie slowly and calmly shifted her gaze from the ranting man to Lucy who was still weeping and her mother, Victoria, who was sending her death glares and she yawned.
She returned her gaze to her uncle who felt offended that Valerie was yawning at such a serious case and he flared.
