Valerie stood in front of the big mirror in the boutique, staring at the beautiful blue gown she was trying out.
"Wow, you look great in everything." Mariam said and Valerie glanced over her shoulder.
"You're here?" She said and turned around. "How have you been these days? I didn't get a chance to thank you the last time we met and..."
Mariam raised her index finger to stop her from saying more.
"Let's leave work to work and dresses to dresses." She said and smiled. "Besides, if I was as petty as my brother, I would've asked for a reward." She said and stifled a laugh. "But I'm not like that."
"Thank you."
"Hm," Mariam looked at the dress. It was bright blue.
"This isn't a color I would usually wear but Max insisted and..." She covered her face. "He said red would be too flashy."
