Alexandra had a dress that she used to disguise herself in. She put it on and exited her palace through a side door. A meeting place known only to her and the king. The garden was too far away from her palace and the king's palace. Since it was past curfew the only ones who could roam the park were the special servants assigned to clean the park.
A few young knights stopped to see which way she was going before continuing their duties. Alexandra thought she had been tricked and would just wait for Aelark, the king, to arrive. However, Aelark was there, dressed in simple clothes that she had rarely seen.
"Did you have trouble getting here, Alexandra?" Aelark asked Alexandra who had not yet arrived.
After falling silent in shock at Aelark's unexpected presence, Alexandra pinched her own cheek to make sure she wasn't dreaming. When the pain stung her cheek, she approached Aelark who was smiling at her behavior.
"Why did you pinch your cheek?"
