Chereads / Grey Fortune / Chapter 30 - Day Two

Chapter 30 - Day Two

● Graviton

Exact Location: The Star Lord's Villa.

Atlas as the Star Lord burst into Aurora's chambers. He shut the door behind him and walked further into the room.

Aurora sat on a couch with less clothing than she normally wears but still covering her entire body but her dark eyes. Sitting beside her was Aeson who held a drink in his hand.

The ash-haired man set the drink down and turned to Atlas Finn still holding his normal friendly look on his face.

"What the hell was that out there?" Atlas questioned, looking between the two.

The two only stared at him and Atlas realized what he had just done. He removed the watch that gave him the Star Lord's looks and quickly went down on his knees. "Please, forgive me, I have no idea what came over me, forgive me."

Aeson smiled and stood up on his feet. He walked over to the large window behind his mother, looking down at the gathering in the compound of the villa. "I understand how you feel Atlas," he started. "It must be hard trying to impassionate a big figure such as the Star-Lord." He turned to face the dark-haired man.

Atlas looked up at him with a worried face. "Aeson…" he mumbled. His eyes moved to Aurora's, causing his whole body to reverberate and goosebumps to rise. He quickly looked away and planted his eyes back on the ground.

"I know it is difficult, I know you feel at the risk of getting caught." He stepped forward and curbed in front of the Star Lord's right-hand man. "You only have to hold on till the end of the Gravity Fall month, then I'll lift the burden from your shoulder."

He looked up at Aeson who put on a calming smile. "Yes."

Aeson stood up and extended his hand to help him up. "Now, it's time to prepare for the forty-nine-hour walk."

----

Some minutes later, the dark-haired man stepped out of Aurora's chamber. He stood in front of the door and placed his hands on his knee, letting out a sigh of relief. Though Aeson put on a smile and spoke to him calmly, he saw death a gun aimed at his head behind the smile.

"What a brat." He stood up and fixed his shirt, ready to walk away but a call of his name made him veered around.

Atlas' eyes widened out of shock as he noticed the beige-haired lady, Dahila, approaching him. "Dah… how are you still here?" He asked. "I'm certain I saw you with Zephyr."

"I did see him to his ship, but I stayed back," she revealed. "My Lord suspected a threat in the villa and he asked me to stay back, it seems he was right."

Atlas frowned. "What?"

"Where is the Star-Lord?" She queried.

"I…n in his chambers I believe," he stuttered.

"I am from there, the Star Lord's chamber is empty." She stopped and inched closer. "I know you are impersonating the Star Lord on orders of Au…" he quickly pinned her to the wall and covered her mouth.

He glanced at the door to Aurora's chambers then at Dahila. "Let's talk somewhere else."

"How did they find out about the drugs you were ordered to feed the Star-Lord?" She asked once they were inside an underground basement that used to be used by Zephyr for his meeting with the dark haired man, Atlas.

Atlas pushed back his hair and paced around the place uneasily.

"Was it you who told them about Zephyr's plan to overthrow the Star-Lord?" She asked. "Are you the…"

The dark-haired man lost control and lunged at Dahila with his fist clenched. She reacted quickly and grabbed his hand, hurling him over her shoulder and onto the ground with a thud. She stood straight and fixed the wrinkles on her clothes, not having a slight change of emotion. "I have been a Heavenly Protector for over a thousand years, Atlas, the Greyes will have to actively grant you a helping hand for you to defeat me in combat."

Atlas grabbed his side and groaned. He dragged himself to lean on the wall behind him.

The beige-haired lady curbed in front of him. "I'll ask you one last time; who is the mastermind behind this plan and what is their ultimate goal?"

Atlas glared at her while breathing heavily. He stayed quiet for a couple of seconds before bursting into a hysterical laugh. "What are you going to do when you find out? Huh? Report to Zephyr?" He laughed some more. "It seems you haven't heard what happened yet."

"It's over, your Lord is dead," he revealed. "It is time you give your allegiance to someone else, someone who can protect you."

Dahila took out her phone and rushed out of the basement, leaving the dark-haired man alone. He attempted to stand but groaned and crashed back to the ground. "Damn that bitch!"

Exact Location: A coffee shop.

"I'll have the regular, D," the light brown-haired man said while leaning on the counter. Liam first bought a cup of coffee from the shop after his first full mission as a Sweeper of the Organization and it was the best he had in a while.

Since then, the teal green-eyed man always bought a cup from the shop to get his day going and whenever he wanted a drink on other times.

Liam had visited the shop so many times that the barista, D, knew what he always takes: a cup of macchiato with less milk. The teal green-eyed man ran his hand through the back of his head and sighed as he thought back to the hotel room.

////

Mac shut the door behind him and glared at the two. He stared at the duo for a long while before wearing a smile on his face. "You must be the mighty Liam," he started while taking off his top coat.

The vanilla-haired man walked up to Liam and extended his hand for a handshake. "I'm Mac Nancy," he said, emphasizing his surname.

Liam smiled. "I can't say I haven't heard about you since all Zara talks about is you," he paused. "Well, mostly."

After a while of exchanging pleasantries, and partially getting to know each other, Liam said his goodbye and made his way out of the room. He entered the hotel's elevator and clicked a button to the ground floor but before the door could fully close, a hand held the door open.

Liam looked up to see Mac glaring at him. He fixed his necktie and stepped forward such that they were only a few inches away from each other.

"Let me make it clear to you… I do not like you, or anyone that calls themselves a Sweeper," he started. "So, for your own good, Liam Grayson, I'll advise you to stay away from my fiancée."

"If I ever set eyes on your pathetic face again, I'll kill you." He tapped Liam's shoulder before turning to leave.

Liam could sense at least, an ounce of affection for the vanilla-haired man from the arctic blue-haired lady. But all he sensed from the latter were lies, words that'll only stay once he acquires the company he desires.

"Well here's mine," the light brown haired man said, causing Mac to stop. "I've seen all the marks you leave on Zara's body, Mac Nancy" Liam took a step forward.

"So let me make one thing clear to you… if you lay your filthy, pathetic hands on her again, forget the HP Department, not even the Greyes can save you from what I will do to you."

Before Mac could say or make a move, the elevator door close shut.

////

"Ehh, excuse me, sir?" A voice called out, dragging Liam back to reality. He turned, expecting to see the guy he knew as D, who normally serves him his drink, but instead, a beautiful pale-skinned lady with a ginger curly messy bun that was effortlessly tied up and large black framed glasses with see through lenses over her dark red eyes. She wore blue jean trousers coupled with a black sleeveless crop top with an apron over it.

She fixed her glasses and drawled. "I… don't know your regular order, I'm new here."

Liam quietly took in the lady's appearance and then looked around the shop. "Where's D? Doesn't his shift start now?" He asked.

"Do you mean the guy that used to be here?"

He nodded.

"Oh, he was transferred to the branch at Graviton, we are opening a new shop there."

Liam nodded understandably. "I see. Well, I'm Liam." He extended his hand for a handshake.

The ginger-haired lady pushed up her glasses and smiled shyly before taking his hand. "I'm… May," she revealed.

"Nice to meet you, May… I'll take a macchiato with less milk…"

"Less milk?"

The teal green-eyed man nodded. "I'm not a fan of milk but I also don't like the raw coffee taste, so yeah."

"Why not take an Americano then? it's not as bitter." The lady asked before moving to make his drink.

"Honestly…"

The two chatted on and on, on different coffees, and how cappuccino is a discount latte and shouldn't exist before Liam made his way to the Jenkins's residence.
