Leo trains his best for the following days. He tries to grasp the meaning of the word "Body and Sword should have a one mind".
He's been trying, and failing everytime. Lawrence watch him but doesn't offer his assistance. Leo tries to understand that too.
Having him train for himself maybe beneficial for himself. 'The foundation should be build by myself so I can't forget it huh?' Leo thought as he imitate how Lawrence do it.
It's already been his 3rd day of training. Now it's been a week. He still doesn't grasp it. He is slowly getting tired of trying and still Lawrence doesn't give him a hand.
Because it's been quite long since he knows Lawrence he's aware that Lawrence had a kind heart and he is just doing it for some reason.
*Huff* *Huff*
'I can't get the idea. Lawrence put that dummy to train the body and sword combination.. but this is quite tricky..' Leo thought and Lawrence goes down from the treehouse.
'Huh? Is he going to help me now?' Leo ask himself but Lawrence just said a single word that's is "Target" and slash the dummy.
'???.. Target?' Leo is confused and take a break for a moment to recollect and gather his thoughts. 'Target.. what? I can't understand' Leo had a hard time thinking about what could Lawrence mean about that.
Leo gets up from the ground and pick up his sword. He looks at the dummy and had one thought in mind.
'When Lawrence hits the dummy he targeted the neck.. while I been just slashing it aimlessly.. I thought to myself as long as I hit the target it's enough' Leo thought.
Leo strike the dummy with the "Target" in his mind. His strikes now are not random. Lawrence is happy for Leo's growth bug he still lacks something to achieve the body and sword combination.
"Consequences" Lawrence said above the treehouse. Leo heard it while striking the dummy. 'Consequences?' Leo thought but he smiled he grasp the meaning of the word right away.
'I have to think that the dummy is not stationary and it's moving and counterattacking my movement' Leo thought as he creates an image in his mind that the dummy is moving and attacking him too.
More sharper, faster, and precise movement to achieve the most advantage in the battlefield. He's movement is not much cleaner and he's decision making is much quicker.
When he thinks that he should strike on the left his body and sword needs to follow what he wants. Hence why its called "Body and Sword Combination". While striking he should think of the ways to avoid getting critical damages as long as possible.
After that day, after the week of training Leo, he achieved the 1st Step of swordsmanship.
'Haha.. I even get almost 2 weeks of training to achieve 1st step and I've been hailed as a genius.. this this guy is a monster' he thought as he get Leo to climb up and had a dinner.
The sun is setting and the night is bright. The skies is filled with stars and Leo is sleeping peacefully.
"That guy.. I think it's time for him to train magic tomorrow?" Lawrence ask himself.
"Well if it's him it should be easy.. I think?"
