He doesn't come out empty handed. He has been given a small pouch of money a letter that is given by Lawrence to dilver in a certain person, and his first real sword.
The trees of anixiateiry forest or "death door" are big enough to not let any rays of the light through. Even though they're lucky that they are living near the lake where the light come through.
In the east side of the forest lies the first village near the anixiateiry forest.
The small village of Nimhan. That is where Leo is heading. According to Lawrence, the village mostly became popular because of its location near the anixiateiry forest where a lot of monster taken place in.
"Hm.. looks like I have to walk really far from here" Leo says to himself as he walk down the path of massive trees. The forest is enveloped of monsters, but if you are questioning why the treehouse is safe it's because of the poison dragon.
The monsters can't go against the apex predator even though it's been sleeping for a while. It's the natural instinct of the monster, no wonder Lawrence and Leo lives quite comfortable.
A Leo follows the path heading east he stumble upon a monster. Because Leo is no longer in the protected area of the dragon the monsters lust cannot be contained anymore.
"A monster here? Well you look like a big ass monkey" Leo said as if to mocked the unilliterate monster who cannot understand a single strand of words his saying.

The monster, Greedy Monkey suffered an injury at his right should and eye. It jumps towards his left where he goes up to a tree and hid himself.
It's probably feels the difference between the strength and now retreating to live for another day. But Leo don't want that to happen Leo jump and grab the branch of the tree where he jumps again to another branch into another again.
The greedy monkey who sees a predator hunting him fasten up his phase but due to its injury it's rather slow.
Leo catch up to him and grab his head. The greedy monkey retaliate and tries to grab Leo in the waist with it's sharp nails.

Wind Blade, a magic attack that made the wind a sharp blade that can cut at any flesh.
The head of the greedy monkey fell from the above followed by it's blood. The smell of it's blood attracted the monster around the area.
The monster blood has a distinctive smell that differentiate it from the humans blood. It's blood can produce a stink that can make a normal person pass out.
Now Leo is faced by many monster around. He smiles and said "Now I can feel like I've been training again!".
