"The part where I made her leave because even though I thought you were with Rake, I couldn't stop loving you. And when I came…" He grimaced and dropped his face into both hands. "Jesse… I was broken and thinking of you. That's the truth. You can compel me if you don't believe me. It's the whole truth. I couldn't do it. Even thinking you were betraying me, even thinking you'd run off with Rake and it was a plot, when it came down to it… I didn't want anyone but you."
