<×> KORVAC <×>
Chapter 45 : Unstoppable Decayment Part 5.
Bverxkka's words provide almost the same amount of answers than the questions he instigated without really having such intention.
—HAHAHA, See, that is what i was talking about, NEVER, EVER, TAKE THE CREDIT OF OTHERS FOR YOURSELF!, HAHAHA, I knew you were honest Bverxkka, but this, HAHAHA, is pretty neat…
—I recall your displeasure on the subject Viukane, and a respectable Hûrngöth like "I always must portrait", never lies, and if we do so, correct the interaction as soon as it is possible.
{So, I could ask about anything and Bverxkka would reply to me truthfully?… , I mean… , I have a lot of questions, and he has been orienting us with moderation… , Why?, Is the "RAL" really that dangerous, Or perhaps he has another purpose?}
The silver sky that has returned to its normality is plagued of creatures that move through the air, flying in different directions without any kind of organization, if not, they continue to fall next to the hedious and viscous yellowish liquid.
{The situation has been mitigated by Bverxkka and Briannell intervention, but is still a serious problem}
*—What is happening!*
A random voice scream far from us, and more commotion develops along with a growing panic in the people around that turns into terror upon sighting the beasts in the sky.
—They should be freezing!.
Amanda exclaims in disbelief, to which Bverxkka responds nonchalantly.
—They can regulate their body temperature, and some are capable of manipulate more than a marginal amount of Kinetic Energy.
{He just answer!, Is that simple?}
Amanda is completely stunned by the reply and Stacy cleans his lips of vomit after spitting on the parking floor.
—I don't understand what were you speaking about earlier… , But if you know what is going on, Tell us.
The request is more towards Viukane than the rest of us, so he meditates for a moment before confessing what he knows to Stacy, which catches Amanda's attention, bringing her out of the reverie induced by the information Bverxkka provide.
—We are travelers… , Sort of… , Obligated to be here and fulfill certain amount of requirements… , We knew something was coming, but not "What", "Where" or "Who", and for sure we wasn't expecting "Whatever" owned that finger, Or the fact that it was so scared by the presence of Bverxkka and Briannell that flee away as soon as the realization of who its opponents were, entered in its thoughts… , However, Those Creatures are bad news, and the "Fluid" looks like "Ambivalent Energy"… , That is even worst… , And the concentration is so disgustingly high that something with no mass at all, has acquired the apparency of a liquid, but is completely detrimental for everything on "The New Existence", and depending on "This Planet Development", all life could be condemned to extinction.
Stacy has almost a break down trying to make some sense from what Viukane has just said, while Amanda, on the contrary, is more calm and focused on what truly matter.
—So all what is happening and could unfold, it would have been worst?.
—By a lot, and the truth is, this hasn't started yet.
{I could swear that she has a Pragmatic Disposition as "I" do}
—Then, If this "Ambivalent Energy" is a threat to us, Shouldn't we enter into the Mall to take refuge of the fallen liquid?.
Amanda's question is on point, but no one replied appropriately to her, because Bverxkka comments and say flatly.
—Everyone is alredy affected by the Ambivalent Energy, and entering into direct Physical contact could ended up the lives of those who touch it, or Eroding their Minds and Bodies to substitute them, becoming and active spreader of Ambivalent Energy.
{What does he mean?!}
—Bverxkka, if this fluid is Ambivalent Energy, Can't we just Refine it?.
My inquiry surprise Viukane, but the questioned young male remains stoic.
—No Korvac, Only High Species and above can do it by themselves, You, or even Me, currently depend on the Structures and the Collective effort of the Participants to complete the process… , That is why we have Refine Ambivalent… , and limitations the number of occasions we can entervthe same Structure, because the usual is not having a relevant amount of tolerance against Ambivalent Energy, as those on our "Real Team" have.
{So we shouldn't be capable of enter into a Monolith after a having been inside of the Pyramid… , I suppose Rhodes didn't lie to me, the normal is Withstanding the intrucion of Ambivalent Energy once then rest to recover from having something we shouldn't possess from the begining}
*§ High Ambivalent Energy Detected §*
{Seriously?!, Can this notifications be more useless?!}
*§ Perimeter Restrictions Eliminated §*
{What does this means?}
*§ Additional Quest Altered §*
{What!, The Monolith can decide that on its own!, That is no Fair!}
*§ Keep The Locals Alive §*
{So the Quest to get the Locals out of the Perimeter was replaced, *Sigh*, This is so annoying, as i said, The Structures are too tricky…}
*§ Hold The Same Location §*
{Yep, This confirms it, The Structures want us to die, if we have to remain here, it means we never are going to take distance from the Creatures, they are going to surround and swarm us, as the Wölfznsatch did to Slayçęr and Myself inside the Pyramid…}
—This Notifications change everything!.
Comment Briannell aloud with annoyance, provoking Stacy to scream with panic.
—What Notifications?!, I didn't hear anything.
Viukane clarifies the misunderstanding.
—The "Notifications" are only for us, and as your Friend suggest, we should go inside the Mall, It won't do any good against Ambivalent Energy, but it can still slow down those Creatures or keep them outside the building for a while.
With quite a bit of hesitation, Stacy and Amanda come with us inside the Mall, the latter taking a few more seconds outside due to be securing her Van is closed.
{Oh! Naive Amanda, If someone wanted to steal your vehicle, They would just break the windows, *Sigh*, I guess the crime here isn't that bad or effective, which is good, i think…}
In the Mall, the insides smell pretty bad, after all, most people start puking when the rift was opened, so the floor and some walls are stained with vomit.
Several people are unconscious, and unfortunately, there are some deaths too, probably because they fell into a bad position when they lost consciousness, like that young man who is near the bench, his head hit the edge of it, ending his life prematurely.
{Could it be that i was always this insensitive towards death?, Or is it a repercussion of my Pragmatic Disposition?, I remember that it didn't affect me too much when my parents died, And even though my fiancee was murdered in front of me, I wasn't that shocked, or at least i don't think someone should be so fast with the acceptance of someone leaving to never ever be by your side again…}
*AHHRGAHHHH*
The deafening scream of terror catches our attention, a woman is stunned, completely motionless to see a guy in front of her carrying a firefighter's axe, with which he has attacked another person from behind.
A twisted look on his face reveals that his eyes have lost the white part, turning yellowish, as if they were made of the Ambivalent Energy.
*—Leave alone!… , AHHRGAHHHH.*
More screams and prayers are heard with increasing regularity, just like the chaos that invades the hearts of all people with greater ease at each passing moment.
Without thinking too much about it, we move together through the corridors of this Mall, but the people running away, those who had gone insane and the vomit on the floor don't make it easy at all.
Stacy, Amanda and Thyfall stumble or skid every few steps, which almost made me fall to the floor a couple of times.
The only one who continues tranquil and unaffected by this is no other than Bverxkka, he doesn't run, or rush his steps, on the contrary, he follows our path with constant tempo.
Emanating a visible blue lightning of electricity from his right hand every time someone approaches him.
Such action by Bverxkka is executed regardless of the condition of the people who approach him, which subconsciously or consciously, causes everybody else to begin to avoid him, and that is without any other interaction from his part.
{That is impressive and terrifying!}
—Let's enter here!.
Briannell's suggestion is followed by us, going inside of a small family restaurant, getting ready ourselves to close the sliding gate as soon as Bverxkka reaches us.
A crazy Person runs towards the entrance of the restaurant, but a few meters before the doors, a lighting bolt strikes the young male, destroying its eyes and charring his flesh, the output energy of this attack clearly outmatched the previous ones, and functions exceptionally well as a deterrent to others, because we don't have anyone trying to enter the restaurant again.
Bverxkka finally is in front of the entrance, and is in that moment that the Crazy Person with the firefighter's axe swing his weapon, hitting the head of Bverxkka right before my eyes.
