Aiden leaned against the school gate, having left the building as soon as the bell rang, disregarding his scheduled pickup time. He quickly called Lopez to update him on the change in plans, then dialed another number.
"Hi, Lydia," he said, getting straight to the point.
"Hi, master. How are you doing?" Lydia replied, her voice soft and submissive.
Aiden skipped the small talk. "How's the case going?"
Lydia briefed him, "It's his second hearing today. The victims' families are present, but we have strong evidence and pleas to table."
Aiden's instructions were clear. "Just make it happen. I'll see him when he's released. He must be released by tomorrow, no matter what. Find a way to influence the judge's decision."
Lydia assured him, "That can be fixed."
Aiden ended the call, his mind racing with plans. After a few minutes, his car pulled up, joining the lineup of vehicles waiting to pick up students.
