Chapter 115 - End of Summer Fair

There was only a week left before Mika and Aiden would be back from their honeymoon, so the three of them wanted to make the most of the time they had left together as a family, of sorts.

The county fair was in session, so the three decided to go together. They bought a bunch of tickets for rides and then entered.

Kai took in a deep breath and smiled as they stepped onto the fairgrounds. The air was thick with the sweet smell of fried foods and cotton candy. There were all sorts of vendors set up. Liam took a bite of a giant cinnamon sugar pretzel as he held Michael's hand. Kai watched, his heart aching a little bit. He missed the days where Michael had been too young to know the difference between good and bad people.

The boy had grown up a bit, and he was becoming more wary of people, more careful, but he was still very much a child at heart. Kai wondered if he and Liam were ever like this.
