As Yeorin enters the room, he's greeted by the familiar face of his father, Mun Tae Gwang, who's seated at the head of the table. Yeorin's heart races slightly, but he composes himself and takes a deep breath.
"Good afternoon, Father," Yeorin says, his voice steady.
Mun Tae Gwang looks up, his eyes narrowing slightly as he takes in Yeorin's appearance. "Yeorin, naui adeul (my son)" he said curtly, his tone neutral, "you didn't even see me since you returned from New York."
Yeorin took a seat across from his father, "I landed in Korea on the last day of orientation, and I started classes the next Monday. I haven't been around a lot," he said with a neutral voice, his eyes scanning the room. He notices a few new faces, including a middle-aged woman with a kind smile and a young man with an eager expression.
"Who are they?" Yeorin asked his father. Mun Tae Gwang knew his son wasn't very fond of him so he always tried his best to be lovable to him. He looked at the people Yeorin was referring to, "Oh! Them, well they're new investors, apparently, our fashion brand is doing quite well. The woman, that's is Ms. Glenda Drokov and the man well, that's Jung Joon Ji, most people call him Tripple J, he's here to stand in for the actual investor who is his father - Jung Hyeong Seok
"Wait," Yeorin paused, "you mean like Jung Hyeong Seok asin in JHS Couture?"
"Hmmm (yes)," his Father replied with a slight smile stretching across his lips, "actually Tripple J came to see you, you know? Hyeong Seok and I and quite good friends so I told him about you being B&S itself."
Yeorin's eyebrows folded slightly, his thoughts a cluster of webbed confusion - "Gosh why does this man always go around telling people about me? I understand he's proud but he knows what I did this." Yeorin smiled a little and looked at Tripple J, sighed "Ne appa (alright Father), Gamsahabnida (thank you)."
The meeting room was filled with the right amount of people to start the meeting, they were all aware of who Yeorin was but no one could say anything since they had a non-disclosure contract. "Let's get started," Mun Tae Gwang said, his voice commanding attention. "We have a lot to discuss."
As the meeting progressed, Yeorin was impressed by the ideas brought to the table as suggestions, the enthusiasm and dedication were commendable. They presented their ideas for the shoe launch, and Yeorin was s pleased to see that they've taken his vision to heart.
When it was his turn to speak, Yeorin stood up and confidently presented his concept, using the TV and projector to showcase his designs. The room was filled with "Oohs" and "Aaahs" as he revealed the sleek, futuristic shoes. "...and that'd be the main attraction of our shoe launch among other shoes, the E series, with each color representing each element, and the sixth a mashup of the remaining...."
Mun Tae Gwang listens intently, his expression unreadable. But as Yeorin finishes his presentation, a small smile plays on his lips. A wild roar of clapping erupted in the room showing they all buy into the concept and the design itself.
"I'm impressed, Yeorin," Mun Tae Gwang complemented, his voice a little softer. "You've done well."
Yeorin looked him in the eyes, happy that he could see him smile and that he didn't let him down.
The meeting concluded with a positive outcome, and the investors were energized and motivated. Yeorin left the meeting room with the investors feeling proud and accomplished, knowing he'd made a great impression.
After the stakeholders' meeting, Yeorin heads to the conference room on the 50th floor, where the entire team is gathered for another meeting.n As he enters, he scans the room, his eyes locking onto Yuna's familiar face.
Yeorin's heart skips a beat as he feels a flutter in his chest. He tries to compose himself, taking a deep breath as he makes his way to the front of the room.
"Good morning, everyone," he says, his voice confident. "Thank you for gathering here today."
He made his way to the seat designated for him. His eyes locked with Yuna. She sat across him, her eyes fixed on him with a hint of wariness.
The team began their presentation, pitching what needed to be done in the company, the marketing team spoke up first, followed by the legal team, then the sales department, followed by human resources and lastly, the maintenance department.
Yeorin tries to maintain his focus, but he can feel Yuna's eyes on him, boring into his skin. He falters slightly, his words stumbling over each other. He recovers quickly, but he can't shake off the feeling of unease.
Yuna, on the other hand, is studying Yeorin's every move, her eyes narrowed slightly as she takes in his words. She's still trying to process her feelings from their earlier encounter, and she's determined to keep her guard up.
As the presentation continued, Yuna's gaze never wavered, her eyes fixed on Yeorin with an intensity that made him squirm. Yeorin's inner thoughts are a jumbled mix of discomfort and irritation, wondering why Yuna is looking at him like that.
The presentation ends, and the team erupts into applause. Yeorin's eyes meet Yuna's, and for a moment, they just stare at each other, the tension between them palpable.
The meeting concludes, and the team begins to disperse. Yeorin makes his way out of the conference room, his heart still racing from Yuna's intense gaze.
"Hey, Yeorin," Yuna says, her voice low and even. "Can we talk for a minute?"
Yeorin's eyes narrow slightly, but he nods curtly. "Sure, what is it, Yuna?"
Yuna takes a deep breath, her heart racing with anticipation. She wants to tell him about the lingering feelings she has had for quite some time. But as she opens her mouth to speak, she hesitates.
Her thoughts went wild - "What am I doing? I can't just blurt out my feelings like that. He's made it clear he's not interested. But why can't I just be honest with him? Maybe he'll surprise me and feel the same way... No, no, no. Don't be ridiculous, Yuna. He's not going to suddenly develop feelings for you. Just stick to the original plan and keep it professional."
Yuna's expression changes, her eyes flashing with a newfound determination.
"Actually, Yeorin, I just wanted to discuss the marketing strategy for the shoe launch. I had a few ideas I wanted to run by you."
Yeorin's expression remains guarded, but he nodded slightly. "Go ahead."
And with that, the tension between them shifts, the momentary vulnerability hidden behind a mask of professionalism.
Yuna launches into a detailed explanation of her marketing ideas, her passion and enthusiasm evident in her voice. Yeorin listens intently, his expression softening slightly as he considers her suggestions.
As they discuss the details, their conversation flows easily, and their professional rapport re-established. Yeorin values Yuna's insight and trusts her opinion, seeing her as a confidant and a friend, like an elder sister.
As their meeting concluded, Yeorin nodded in approval. "Good work, Yuna. Your ideas are solid. Let's implement them and see how it goes."
Yuna smiles, her eyes sparkling with pride. "Thanks, Yeorin. I'm glad you like them."
"If you were this good in marketing, why didn't you go for the position?"
Yuna took this as a chance to pour out her feelings to him subtly, "apparently, I just want to be with you," her eyes lit up with pure emotions, "and I like seeing your face."
Yeorin laughed it out, thinking it was just a regular joke, leaving Yuna pained to the bones, but she covered it with a wider smile.
Their eyes meet for a moment, a sense of mutual respect and understanding between them. Then, they both look away, the moment lost in the bustle of the office.
Over the next few days, Yuna and Yeorin work closely together, their collaboration seamless. Yeorin appreciates Yuna's support and guidance, grateful for her presence in his life.
One evening, as they were leaving the office, Yeorin turned to Yuna with a thoughtful expression. "Hey, Yuna, can I ask you something?"
Yuna's eyes light up with interest. "What is it, Yeorin?"
Yeorin's eyes lock onto hers, his gaze sincere. "How do you always manage to stay so positive and motivated? You're an inspiration to me, Yuna."
Yuna's face warms with a smile. "That means a lot coming from you, Yeorin. I just try to focus on the good things in life and support the people around me."
Yeorin nods, his expression appreciative. "You're a true friend, Yuna. I don't know what I'd do without you."
And with that, their friendship is reaffirmed, a bond built on mutual respect and trust. Yeorin sees Yuna as a trusted ally and a source of encouragement, and Yuna values Yeorin's appreciation and support. Their relationship, a true testament to the power of friendship and colleagueship, a reminder that sometimes, the most meaningful connections are the ones we least expect.
And with that, the tension between them shifts, the momentary vulnerability hidden behind a mask of professionalism. But the question remains, what will happen next? Will Yuna find the courage to express her true feelings, or will she keep them locked away, hidden behind a facade of friendship and colleagueship? Only time will tell.
Unknown to them, Su Ki saw them both leaving B&S together, "what could be doing there dressed like that?" He asked himself. Su Ki picks up his phone and places a call to his family lawyer: "I'm sending you a picture of someone now, find out everything you know about him. I want to know who he really is."
