Curse for a King: 1
His steel clanked, they shine brighter this morning for some reason. His little to no Armour was tighter and heavier from the blood it had soaked but he didn't mind much, not that he had any other option than to just walk it off. Vixen looked slimy too, his fur coated in red didn't do any favors to his dark and gray complexity. The young wolf did catch many eyes from the busy street yet not the wolf or his blood soaked companion minded much.
"Leo! Finally you are back!!" The innkeeper exclaimed with a sigh of relief. Leo looked up to face the old man but decided to first sit down and have Vixen tied to one corner of the inn first before answering him . The locals don't like wolves as furious as Vixen around without being tied up. "It was a hard kill, sir. Demons like those tend to give their best" Leo answered as he dropped his soaked chest plate on the wooden floor. "You see there is an issue sir hunter.." the innkeeper hesitated to meet Leo's eyes.
"That is?"
"You see the inn business isn't the best when a blood sucking demon roams its courtyard in the night so.."
"Get to the point sir" Leo knew he was going to get a huge explanation but didn't have time to sit down and hear it all.
"I'm out of coins to pay you sir hunter"
Leo had clear fury in his eyes. Anger that even Vixen could point out but Leo did have a great temper control when it comes to dealing with clients.
"Sir Leo I'm sorry but I'm really out of everything. If I pay even a dime to you now my kids are going to lay hungry in bed. Please have mercy."
And quiet mercy he had. The hunter stood up from the wooden stool, took a bottle of ale in his hand, untied Vixen and started walking back to the door without speaking a line to the old man.
The innkeeper hesitated but soon yelled "Sir Leo! I do have an excellent case I could hand you to." Leo really couldn't ignore the sound of some money.
"That is?"
"King Esmon has been sick for a long time now. Bed ridden. Some say he has been cursed, well the princess believes so. She has been calling wizards, hunters and even circus clowns to find ways to break the curse of such demons. Maybe you could help. Kings pay handsomely"
"This doesn't make me return the Ale good sir but still thanks." Leo said as he walked out the door. His steel now glowing under the moonlight.
"Demons and Kings, what a nice couple" He muttered.
