Curse for a King: 2
The room went silent when the princess walked in. Helen's tall heels and the cold yet lean face framed her confidence and dominance in the room full of hunters. "So you all are supposed to be hunters, am I right?" She said in her cold uninterested voice.
"Precisely" said the man in the front. Leo had counted the people in the room by now, 5 men 2 women , 3 elves and 2 half breeds. Vixen as usual stood silent in the crowd beside Leo. "We've got quite a competition here Vixen" he whispered to his wolf. Vixen tapped on the ground twice answering in sign yes.
Helen now walked closer to the crowd, her green royal eyes sparkled. Leo always admired the lucky few with color eyes, afterall Black eyed aren't that unique. The elves pushed through the crowd to get a better hear for what the young princess had to say.
"My Father is cursed. It's been 8 days since his legs have given up strength. You are welcome to search his chamber as long as you want but only if you provide me with the head of the demon that dared to hurt the king" Helen stopped, took a small wooden box in her snow hands and let the crowd have a good look at the shiny gold and jewels it holded. "My family's gratitude and treasure are yours if any of you save him"
The crowd which was once silent got buzzing as Helen walked off the room. Leo now stood by the wall as his eyes followed Helen.
"Old man didn't lie about nice treasure" Leo said as he bent down to the level of Vixen. "It's a king's curse we are dealing with Leo, it could be a powerful demon or an enemy, for what I know it's not something we are ready for" Vixen finally Spoke with his deep ocean voice.
"We really need some coins now, Vixen, or else I'll have to melt my sword into a beggar's bowl soon." Leo whispered back.
A guard entered the room again as he signaled the hunters to the King's chamber. It was Lavish and Enormous. It sparkled gold yet was made of pure wood, expensive wood that is. "Elven Craftsmanship" said the wolf tamer as he walked in with the crowd. "The king is of course in the doctor's chamber but you Hunters are allowed to search up the chamber" The old guard said as he walked out.
The hunters spread in every direction of the chamber. Looking and spectating every corner of it. Leo himself chose the balcony, was it for a look for clues or just to have a nice warm breeze, Vixen couldn't guess. The view was not less than miraculous, it spread far enough for Leo to point out the exact line where nobel mansion ends and the poor, darker streets begin. "King Esmon really is no less than other bas.." Leo was interrupted by the loud bang of the door as the guards rushed inside the chamber. "No one shall even move an inch!!" The guards yelled. The Hunters as expected tried to stammer back to their respective swords but were stopped. "We are in big trouble now Leo.." Vixen spoke softly.
"King Esmon was found dead!!" The guards finally yelled again but this time not even the wolf moved an inch.
