Chapter 9 - Totally Fucked

Alexander's POV

Alexander went to get her water, but he could not get her chest placed against his. Off his mind. He wanted more, but he knows he has to calm down. Stephanie thinks she's here for six months, but he has since decided that he wanted her for a lifetime. He wasn't sure when that happened or when he accepted it, but he has refused to fight it.

He got her water and went back into the living room. "Here's your water; would you like anything to eat? Please don't say no; my chef cooked up a feast."

She laughed and then agreed to have some food.

"Are you allergic to anything?" he asked before going into the kitchen. She shook her head no, and he went to get their food.

His chef made a simple meal of pasta and roasted chicken. He served their meals and took them to the living room.

"Oh, this smells heavenly," she said as he handed the food over to her. "Thank you." She collected it and waited for him to settle down before she dug in.

"Oh my God, it tastes even better," she said, moaning after her first bite. Her moan did something to him. He couldn't help but wonder what she would sound like beneath him. That thought made his pants stir a bit. No, Alexander, she's simply enjoying a meal, and you're being a pervert.

"Whatever you're paying your chef, it's not enough," she said, taking another bite and looking up at him. She noticed he wasn't eating and furrowed her brow in confusion.

"Why aren't you eating? Is something wrong?" she asked, concerned.

"No, no, there's no problem, and I'll be sure to extend your praises to my chef, he said, then took a bite of his own.

After they were done with their food, she offered to help clean the dishes, but he didn't let her. He cleared their plates and then came back to the living room.

"So let's get to know each other," he said.

"First, don't you think we should have a story of how we met, just in case anyone asks?" She asked him. That made sense, and he had actually thought about it before.

"Well, I was thinking, although we met in the club. I think it will be more ideal to use our second meeting and let everyone think we met at the grocery store and then it was love at first sight from there," he said.

"Yeah, that's fine; it makes sense, but don't you think your grandfather is going to be suspicious that you found someone to get married so shortly after he gave you an ultimatum?" She asked curiously.

"I have thought about that, but I don't think he cares, hence the ultimatum. He's not a big preacher of love and feels marriage is a contract. Once we're able to convince him that this is legit enough, he won't bat an eyelid."

"Well, okay, then. What do you want to know?" She asked.

"Everything. But first, a movie. What do you want to watch?" He asked, turning to face her. He knew the plan was simply to get to know each other and ask themselves a few questions, but he didn't want to leave her just yet. He wanted to spend as much time with her as possible and desperately craved the extra two hours the movie would bring.

"A movie?" She asked and looked like she was deliberating before a look of resignation finally crossed her face, and it looked like she had made a decision to just let it happen. "What are our options?" she asked finally.

They went through Netflix together and finally decided on 'A Simple Favour.'

Although Alexander spent more than half the time watching Stephanie than watching the movie and he doesn't care because the expressions on her face were more than enough for him.

"That was such a good movie," Stephanie said after the end credits rolled in. She relaxed her back, and the movement made her move a little closer to him. He caught a whiff of her vanilla fragrance, and it was doing things to him.

"Yeah, it was," he agreed, even though he was so distracted during the course of the movie that he couldn't say the storyline even if he had a gun to his head.

"Do you have any siblings?" he asked, remembering why they really were together at his house.

"Um, not exactly. I have a half-sister though, but it's really just my mom and I" she answered, and her tone when she mentioned her mom let him know that there was much more to unpack there, but he just let it go.

"And your dad?" He asked out of curiosity and just really wanted to know that she wasn't alone and had people by her side.

"He left when I was much younger. He went ahead to get another family, hence the half-sister. I just found him—well, he found me a little over a year ago," she answered, "and you? Any siblings?" She directed his question back to him.

"Um, no, an only child. My dad died when my mom was pregnant with me, about three months before their wedding. She died like two years later, when I was a year old," he said, trying to sound nonchalant.

Stephanie could see right through him, however, and gave him a hug. He could feel every single emotion in that hug. It was a hug he had been missing for over two decades of his life. "I'm so sorry that happened to you," she said, untangling herself from him.

"It's fine. Do you want dessert? Ice cream?" He asked, trying to change the topic from this heavy one.

"Sure," she said, getting the hint, "although it's getting a little late and I have to go back home.".

"okay. We'll take the ice cream, I'll take you back home, and we'll continue this some other time." He asked

"Yeah, that sounds good."

They had their ice cream, and when they were finally done, it was time for her to head home. When they finally reached her house, they stared at each other for a while.

"Well, this is me," she said, repeating his words from earlier, making him laugh slightly. and for a short second, it felt like they were about to kiss, but she got down from the car and all but sprinted to her front door. She waved at him slightly, and he waved back. He waited until she opened her door and was safely in before he finally drove off with a single thought in his head.

He was utterly and totally fucked.
