Alexander's POV
It was the day after the Anabelle show, and Alexander was just relaxing at home in his lounge, waiting for Matt. He hadn't told Stephanie about the visit to his grandfather yet; as a matter of fact, he hadn't really spoken to her since he dropped her off at her house. He was sure he was having withdrawal symptoms at this point. He's trying his best to not come off too strong, which is why he made plans with Matt to go golfing.
It took a lot of willpower to not simply cancel and drive to Stephanie's house or just bring out his phone and text her. Grow a spine, Alexander.
After waiting for about fifteen minutes, Matt called to say he was outside. They headed to the golf club.
Alexander played a few rounds of golf and mingled with other members of the club. His grandfather is the reason. He was a member, but he hadn't been to the club for months. He spent hours at the golf club trying to get his mind off of a certain model. He really doesn't know when he became so obsessed with a single person. He's definitely not letting her go.
"What's wrong, bro?" Matt asked while they were sitting at the bar of the golf club. "You've been out of it. Also, when was the last time you came here?"
"It's nothing, man. I just... remember that girl from the club? I met with her, and we've kind of hit it off, but I don't know, man." He didn't want to tell Matt about the arrangement between them. He'd rather pretend it was real, and she truly liked him and enjoyed his company. He knew it was pathetic, but he didn't care very much about that.
"Really? You're serious? I never thought I'd see the day. Looks like we don't have to look for a fake bride for you afterall," Matt said, laughing. Alexander joined in uncomfortably, hoping Matt couldn't sense the discomfort in his voice.
After staying for a while, It was already dark out, and Alexander was drained. He decided it was time to head home. He said good-bye to Matt and left.
After getting comfortable in his car, he brought out his phone to check for any unanswered mail or messages. Maybe he was also hoping a certain person would have texted. All he had received all day, however, was a couple of work emails and a text from Anabelle. He let out a sigh, answered Anabelle, and started his car to head out. Just then, his phone went off, indicating he had a text. He checked his phone, uninterested, thinking it was Anabelle texting back. Although, when he took his phone, he stared at the text in both excitement and surprise.
Stephanie: Heyyy, how are you? How's your day going?
He couldn't actually believe she texted first. He was hopeful, but he didn't actually think she would, and he knows it's just a text checking up on him, but he thought maybe it wasn't one-sided after all.
Alexander: I am alright, love. My day was going alright, but it became a lot better when I saw your text. What have you been up to all day?
He sent her a text back and headed back home. He reached home just a little while later and brought out his phone to see that Stephanie had texted back.
Stephanie: Nothing really; I hung out with my friend all day. We went out to get coffee and then went bowling, but it was too crowded, so we just headed back. How about you?
Alexander: I was golfing with my friend all day. Nothing too major. Do you like bowling? I have a place I can take you too, if you don't mind. It's exclusive and never crowded. We could go tomorrow if you're free, and you can bring your friend along.
Alexander hoped she would agree. He couldn't wait to see her again, even if it meant her friend would be in attendance.
Stephanie: Really?! You'll do that. I'll definitely be free. Thank you so much. I'll ask Kate if she could come as well, but I think she has something planned with her boyfriend.
Alexander: Alright, love.
After texting her, he realized he was still parked outside. Texting her and being all giddy like a teenager. What the hell was she doing to him?
Alexander got in and whipped himself a sandwich to have for dinner. He freshened up and was eating his sandwich when he got a text from Stephanie.
Stephanie: Kate said she wouldn't be available, so it looks like it's just you and me.
Alexander: It is a date, then.
