Chapter 11 - 11. Cultural Reforms and Planning Educational System

1922, Maharashtra,1923

When me and my party members were in hiding, we started focusing on cultural reforms and education. For this I went to the foremost social reformer of this era, Veer Savarkar. He wrote a book around this time on hindutva, but in my world the Sanatan dharm and hindutva has become indistinguishable. So I ordered my my spies to locate him and bring him here with all the things he wants to bring.

After he came, we started discussing the topic of cultural reforms needed without losing our identity. As we talked and discussed things we decided to change the things he planned to write a little. Like he planned to write Sikhism, Jainism, etc. the religions who emerged from Sanatan dharm as one and part of hindutva. But after discussing, he agreed that these religion have evolved a lot and become separate from Sanatan dharm and to give them a separate identity. So we wrote it on the basis of the dharmic path of these religion being similiar.

I urged him not to write anything about muslim or their culture in his book as it may create riots if his book spread too far. Thinking of communal violence he agreed to not write anything but was still angry with the leader of Muslim League's demand during Khilafat Movement. We also discussed about casteism and how to abolish it. The only way we could come up with was educating the young ones from start about its baselessness and quotas for the next few generations but not for lifelong these quotas will only last for a fixed period and will end after it.

I have seen how a barely passed SCST student gets admission in top colleges while toppers have to struggle to get admission in descent colleges.

We also decided to write books about the negative and positive of each and every religion in India so that missionaries can't convert them on false promises and showing their religion as ideal one.

As for the muslim fanaticism, we decide to write a two books, one in which we changed those lines of Quran that were the cause of their barbarism like about forceful conversion, and propagating a live and let live ideology. And the second book questioning the original Qur'an about its bad things and implying that the scholars and scribes changed his words to suit their needs afterall how would Muhammad couldn't tell what was written.

Ofcourse we didn't print them in our name, we would have died before we could say, Mahadev. I asked my spies to look for a muslim widow noble woman who was also suffering due to the subjugation of women and their ill treatment. After some time they found Sofia Malik. After convincing her we gave the second book to her to publish it in her name. The first book proved troublesome but after some time we managed to find a imam who was also confused about these things and was more friendly towards other religion and showed him our book. He agreed that something like this one should have been the real Qur'an which was changed by the greedy man for their benefit. They both decided to come together and publish their book as the true Islam, afterall Allah wouldn't want his children to kill women and children, rape women etc.

These book started spreading between the women and those converted over last two generations as it was so similiar to their previous faith. Some Maulana and imams tried to destroy these books as they questioned their previous Allah. When they tried to create riots to destroy the books and kill Sofia and the imam, they were swiftly dealt with. Seeing this I asked them to move to some other place and change identity. While the imam didn't agree, but Sofia did and after making a show that she was killed, she was transferred to cochin and is living there but the waves created have turned into a tsunami and these two books are spreading like forest fire. I don't know what happened to imam as he went to spread the new Qur'an to other areas and we lost contact but I am sure that he died.

I also started outlining future efucation system as it was just craming as much knowledge as possible in their heads and keep taking tests and giving homework in my world. So first I made the subjects: while most of it remained same physical education was made compulsory course devided into 2 parts, sports & gymnastics and martial arts. While sports & gymnastics is non grading, the martial arts is a graded subject. And subjects like geography, history and politics will be non grading subjects till class 8th after that it will only be graded for those who chose it. Science and maths will be the only graded subjects along with some other and martial arts and swiming but maths will be taught along with the relevance of the formula taught and its application.

Then next step was uniform. I wanted a unisex uniform as I want to finish discrimination on the basis of gender. At first, I wanted shirt and pant but thinking about sports I decided on a tracksuit of light purple.

Next was course books: for sciences I bought books from european countries and USA and compiled them and removed those things that I knew will be proven false. I also gave credit for things to right erson like for maths and different sciences. For history, I decided to remove all the foreign history other than major wars that have global effect or impacted India in some ways but still kept them brief and hired historians to find information about Indian kings, major dynasties etc.

I decided that they will be taught history, moral values, politics etc. through comics and asked my brother to start drawing war scenes as told by the historians, draw stories for moral values and take inspiration for politics through Shukra niti, Chanakya niti etc.

And for the last thing the school will only 6 hour long including 2 half hour breakes after 2 hours. Homework will not be allowed even on winter and summer holidays other than as punishment in which they will only be allowed essays or problem in maths that too only on what they have been taught already. Instead of burdening students with projects there will be summer camps on survival in forests or remote areas, arts like sculpture, blacksmithing etc.

There will also be a course on religion teaching about the pros and cons of each religion and letting them decide on their own which religion they want. For this the books written by Savarkar ji will be used.
