Chapter 14 - 14. Civil Disobedience Movement

1930, Maharashtra, India

We have been spreading words of our movement to as far as we can and urging people to join us. So, on January 26 1930 we raised the flag of Independent India , with 3 horizontal strips of saffron (at the top), white (in middle) and green (at the bottom) with ashoka pillar in the centre. ( See AN at the end of chapter)

After hoisting our own flag and declaring swaraj (self rule) we started gathering trusted people and started a march to nearest sea shore from Ballarpur, Maharashtra on 12th February where we were at the time.

We reached Anandapuram, Andhra Pradesh near Vishakhapatnam after 20 days during which many people joined our march and broke the law in a non violent way by producing salt through boiling sea water.

After this more people kept joining us every day and started producing salt everyday by boiling sea water. Soon it started spreading everywhere and people started producing salt from there nearby sea or Ocean body.

Soon Gandhi also started his Dandi March and it became too big for British to ignore someone questioning their authority. They tried to arrest local leaders and party members. The crowd didn't let them even touch these leaders and they couldn't afford another massacre like Jalianwala Bagh. While Gandhi may have been tolerant and law abiding I am not him.

I also used these gathering spots to spread the new bharati language through the poets and scholars I have trained in this period. This helped in spreading the new language and I made it a mandatory language in all my schools along with the regional language. Slowly the language started spreading as people were more proficient in Sanskrit in this time than 80 years from now and the mix of their regional language helped them in understanding it easily.

Soon Gandhi and major leaders of INC were arrested, this helped in gravitating people towards my side, the only leader to not leave them in between the struggle. Also me and my party' help provided in their regions and small movements headed by them for small rights proved very helpful in gathering huge support.

This is how my party works, we let those who we have decided will participate in election of certain areas will work in solving problems of that region. They will solve the problems of locals and if needed start small movements confined to these localities. If a big movement is needed then they will create a report of the problem like causes, action needed, how to take them etc. these are discussed in our yearly sessions where we discuss all the important matters like these and will discuss our actions and alternative solution etc.

This way we have already started gathering support for our MPs and ministers for future elections and we are proving very successful in our endeavours. I have also finished designing all the necessary technology needed after independence so that we do not have to buy them at exorbitant prices from foreign countries.

Soon December came and the first round table conference was called. BSS was not invited to take part in the conference, a powerplay by British no doubt and since most of the members of INC were arrested, neither were they. I already have ordered all princely states to not show excessive support for me and same for Dr. BR Ambedkar. Only my father in law's were showing support for my attendance.

The first round table conference went as in my world to not show that they are allied and will go as such in all confrenced as my goal is to not reveal our alliances till WW2.

After the failure of first RTC, no action were taken by my side to stop the movement and everything was going same. As time passed British government called for the second RTC. This time they released INC representatives and also invited my BSS party as well.

There Gandhi again used his lone representation of India speech but this time no one paid attention to it as BSS has even more support than INC. There negotiation began where Gandhi put his 11 demands, after him I also put my demands which while similiar were different-

* Heavy import duties on alcohol, tobacco and intoxicants.

* Ban on growing tobacco and intoxicants on Indian soil

* Removal of salt tax and any such tax on basic necessities

* Heavy import duties on foreign goods.

* Reduce in rate of land revenue

* Release of all political prisoners taken till now.

* Licence of arms to citizen for self protection.

* Easy laws and taxation on new businesses in India and not being able to close them without valid reason.

* Right to trade freely with any country without any restriction other than cases of war or emergency.

* Reduction in rate of conversion of rupees to pounds sterling of 1 rupee = 1 pound sterling

They agreed to my 1, 6, 8 and 9th demand and agreed to my reduce the conversion ratio proposed by Gandhi of 1.04 pounds

But as not all my demands were met we continued the civil disobedience movement until they agreed to my 3rd demand atleast and ended the movement in 1934.

Using these laws my brother Shakti the new CEO of my businesses started spreading in India. My sister Priya who has become a proficient classical dancer and musician also recruited many classical dancers and musicians and opened dance and music schools

I also promoted many rich merchants to start their own industries or invest in other businesses and startups. While not many businesses came up around this time but according to my estimates many ideas will start appearing by the time of independence.

This move started to slowly reduce Indian dependence on foreign goods and reduced our export of raw material and import of finished goods. We also started building trade relation with many foreign countries like Malaysia, Thailand, etc. Also taking benefit of this law I started to incite rebellion with greater fervor in Indonesia as well and by my estimates they should be able to gain independence by 1949.

Author's Note

I know that our flag has ashoka chakra not pillar but you have to understand that our flag changed many times before becoming what it is now.
