Chapter 22 - A new adventure [22]

That night I wrote a letter and slid it under their door. I put my suplies and money into the console's storage system so I don't have to carry it around, I put on some light clothing because I was still in a desert. I sneaked down the stairs, the receptionists were already gone, I opened the door and went out.

Outside the lively night life of the city waited for me, during the night it was a lot cooler than at day, I almost thought about putting on my coat but ultimately decided against it. I ventured around town to find a store that was still open. In a dirty alley, I found a store called "John's 24/7 store" and entered.

I walked around looking for only one thing, a detailed map. I found out that the map from the system works like a video game, everywhere I've been get's revealed, so I'll buy a map to see the whole area. I found a couple maps also from distant kingdoms so I could navigate a little. I checked out, it cost 25 silver coins. After buying the maps, I quickly went out of that creepy old house and got onto the main road. Ladies of the night were out on the road calling drunk men in, some adventurers returned from missions, they must've been suprised to see a little kid going around.

I went to the city's gates where some guards were standing. I quitely aproached and tried to sneak past, "Hey! Kid, Hold on!", a guard called out. "Great.", I thought. "Where are your parents? Why are you going out here alone?", he asked. "My parents are waiting in a carriage for me.", I quickly lied. "Come on, let us bring you there.", he insisted. "No, seriously, it's fine.", I answered. "No. We insist.", he pressed. "Then I have no other choice.", I said. I used my newly aquired gravity spell, I limited my magical pressure infront of me and enhanced it with gravity magic, making the soldiers instantly fall over unconcious. I then walked further and entered the dessert.

"They really didn't want to listen, I had to go that far.", I thought, "But still, didn't need to do that.". I walked further into the dessert. I constantly kept check for any enemies but not a single one was on my map. "Weird... these centipedes should've showed up by now...", I pondered. I walked a lot further and that was where my map ended. I had nothing to go off of now, all I had was the location of the next kingdom, it was south of my location but the dessert ended where I was at the moment, a large forest stretched out infront of me.

I entered and as soon as I just stepped a single foot into the forest, it immediately got cold, like really cold. I quickly pulled out my black coat and swung it around my back, I changed my clothes via the console and kept walking. "How the hell can these two places be polar opposites... and then... exist so close next to eachother...", I questioned. I shrugged my shoulder and ventured deeper into the forest. I occasionally came across some lesser monsters and nothing big, which was weird.

After walking for 2 hours in the forest, a massive rainstorm came, lightning crashed from the sky and hit the ground, water fell down as I rushed into a cave. "Damn... things can really change quickly.", I thought. I kept check on the map to see the cloud and when it was safe to go out again, I didn't want to die from a lightning now. Just as I was about to check, a large amount of monsters were showing behind me, I couldn't really see it because I didn't have a map for this place, but there they were, around 50 wolf type beasts, they all jumped at me, I wouldn't have stood a chance if I didn't activate "Godly shield". The ones that attacked me burned away at my shield, the 20 remaining ones just stared at me in shock. I took out my gravity magic book and looked around for a spell. "Here... an adept/intermediate class spell... it's called... Graviton... field.". A field appeared that dragged in enemies towards a middle point. Once they were gathered I looked for another spell, the same class, Weight shift. I increased the weight of the nitrogen and oxygen in the air and made it crush the wolves.

"Interesting... I can also alter gas in the air, though it says here it works with objects, maybe another perk with the console. It's crazy that I got the basics of gravity magic and how to alter gravity in just a single night.", I thought. The thunderstorm was over now and I got out of the cave, I put the book back into my storage and continued my adventure.

"I have to hide this shit. It is said that a normal person can only learn up to 3 magic types... but each takes 6 years each... meaning if I started at age 0, I would have to be 18 by now... yet I can already do Shadow, Fire and Gravity magic... this is a little too overpowered for me... should I tell Emilia when I get back?", I pondered. "Nah, it would only be confusing. I'll just only use this magic type when I'm like... hold on, I started at 5 years old... meaning 5 + 18.... uhh... 23 years old.".

I didn't come across any major threat in the meantime. I continued my adventure through the forest and the sun was already setting. I climbed up a tree and took out my gravity book. "Shit, other kids read bedtime stories, I read magic books... I mean, I'm not really a kid to be honest...", I thought. I read about some more spell that I wanted to try out. All this time, in each and every book, if it's shadow magic, fire or now gravity, not a single god-class spell was listed... I wanted to see if I could use one. I mean, I could manipulate the story and make a paper with one fall down, out of the sky, but that would take the whole fun from it. After reading for about 30 minutes, I decided that was enough, that evening I found out a bit more for Shadow magic and Gravity magic. "Combining them sure will be fun.", I thought as I drifted off to sleep. I dreamed about being back home, playing with Evie, helping my mother cook like back then, chatting in class with Emilia, I just wanted to get back home.

Though in the middle of the night, a loud bang happened. I opened my eyes rapidly, I looked around but everything was dark, just like your usual night, I looked to my right and there was a giant monster staring at me. I opened my map, I checked its status... it was a...
