As the war between the Spartans and the Technotopians raged on, a strange discomfort emerged in the hearts and bodies of both the Spartans and the Technotopians. They all felt a distinct change in the environment, and for a short few seconds, most stopped fighting.
Those with fast reactions snapped out of their stupor, while those with slower reactions died or sustained injuries. The fighting continued, but the same thought emerged in the hearts of all.
'A Grandmaster was angry.'
A few who had time tried looking for the source of this subtle change, and those with powerful perceptions were able to pinpoint the source.
"Commander Kael."
Vice-Commander Orion mumbled with a deep frown as he wondered what in the world would make Commander Kael angry. He looked at the battlefield below, and with a determined expression, he sent out a pulse of his Spiritual Sense. A few seconds later, his expression experienced a change.
He was able to sense the unique aura of their Commander on the ground battlefield, and when his spiritual sense reached that location, he saw the lifeless body of Dax and their Commander's medallion in his hands.
Just as he was about to speak, he felt danger, and he quickly moved to the side.
Bang Bang Bang Bang
The familiar detestable sound of gunshots resounded in the ears of Vice-Commander Orion. After a few seconds, the gunshots stopped, and Vice-Commander Orion who had been dodging the bullets, looked at the source of the gunshots.
Hovering in the air at a distance of approximately 30 meters was the familiar figure of a female garbed in a tight-fitted nanosuit. In her hands were a pair of black deadly pistols, and a few seconds later, the guns became liquid and got absorbed into her nano-suit. Vice-Commander Orion squinted his eyes when he saw that.
He watched as a ball of liquid emerged from his enemy's nano-suit, and three seconds later, the ball of liquid solidified. Vice-Commander Orion frowned deeply as he felt a faint sensation of danger from the black ball.
He gripped his spear tightly, and just as he expected, the Technotopian threw the black metallic ball at him. As the ball zoomed at him, the ball underwent a change.
From a ball, it became a spear. And from a spear, it became a missile.
The pupils of Vice-Commander Orion constricted, and with a roar, he threw his spear at the missile.
Woosh!
The air trembled, and with a loud whoosh, the spear of Vice-Commander Orion collided with the missile.
BANG!
Despite the sharp and pointed tip of the Vice-Commander's spear, the spear still struggled to pierce the missile. It was obvious that the material used in the creation of the missile was not just any normal metal.
As time went by, it seemed like the spear and missile were going to remain at a standstill, and when Vice-Commander Orion saw this, his expression became solemn.
He made a hand sign, and the moment he did that, his black spear became red hot. Vice-Commander Orion maintained the hand sign for at least five seconds, and then he said:
"Release."
The moment this word escaped his lips, a red beam was instantly released from his spear. The red beam pierced through the missile with ease, and it zoomed toward the Technotopian in the distance.
Despite the danger and speed the red beam possessed, the Technotopian reacted calmly.
Although, she could move to the side and dodge the red beam, she was experienced and she knew that there was a high chance that Vice-Commander Orion could control the laser beam with his spiritual sense.
She opened her palm, and a similar black metallic ball appeared in front of her. The metallic ball expanded, and in two seconds, a round shield was in her right hand.
Without hesitation, she placed the shield in front of her, and the moment she did, a loud bang resounded.
Bang!
The Technotopian was pushed backwards by the red beam of light, and a grunt escaped the helmet she wore.
Despite the force and power of the red beam of light, she stood her ground and did not give in.
The confrontation continued for at least 5 seconds, and her shield became red hot. The urge to drop her shield was strong since it was burning her hands, despite the nanosuit she wore.
Another 5 seconds passed, and to her surprise and relief, her shield started melting.
Just as she expected, the power and intensity of the red beam of light reduced, and a few seconds later, the red beam of light vanished.
She exhaled a soft sigh of relief, and then she grinned behind her helmet as she looked at Vice-Commander Orion.
"Let me guess. You used 30-40 percent of your mystic energy in that attack. That was not really smart of you, you know?"
A dark and cold expression appeared on the face of Vice-Commander Orion. He glanced at his enemy's semi-solid shield which was falling, and he replied coldly:
"You got a new toy."
The Technotopian chuckled. "My new toy stopped your powerful attack. You're really weak."
Boom!
Without hesitation and without saying a single word, Vice-Commander Orion flew toward the Technotopian at a great speed and with a cold expression.
The Technotopian shook her head, and with a tone filled with unveiled disdain, she said:
"You and your spear are really not the sharpest tools in the box."
The instant Vice-Commander Orion heard these words, his aura flared up, and thick, murderous intent immediately spread out from his body, causing the air around him to distort and have a bloody hue.
When the Technotopian saw that, she was not deterred nor was she fazed. Instead, a smile was behind her helmet since she knew her words hurt the pride of the Vice-Commander.
With a smile, she stretched out her right hand, and a large blob of liquid emerged from her hand. The large blob of liquid changed, and in two seconds, it became a spear.
Clang!
Two spears collided with one another, and a battle between two vice-leaders commenced.
