Eliza's POV
"Tell me how it goes!" Ana said and I laughed into the phone, she was my and Malcom's cheerleader, urging me to entertain him more and accept his numerous dates offers.
"I will try, even if it's the most tasking job I've ever had to take on." I teased as I dubbed more foundation on my face and blended it on my skin, I had since added weight but in a more rounded and as Malcolm like to say 'ample way'
"Okay I will talk to you later, Damon is turning the whole house upside down, it was supposed to be my mummy's night in but his father didn't show up." Ana explained and sympathy flooded through me. My own child wouldn't even have a dad!
"I'm so sorry I can't help!"
"Oh no, call me toxic but I do enjoy these mayhem he causes, it kind of keeps me going." She explained and i honestly didn't understand how her son turning down the whole house was a good thing.
"Okay….Let me call you after, Goodnight!" I said as a plate crashed in the background, i quickly cut the call, leaving she and her son to the chaos that was their lives.
It was our dinner night, I had anticipated it for the whole of the week, I was going to feel younger, wanted and hopefully, a little more whole.
I slid into my red flay dress and did a little swirl to confirm if the princess effect was still present. I was beginning to feel my baby move and the reality was even more real, not like the morning sickness and clinic check up were not prove enough, but this reminded me that I had a living, breathing baby growing inside of me.
"Eliza!" The annoying sound of Tilly boomed from my front door and I groaned, i was going to make sure I had all I was wearing on before answering the door. I arranged my hair in a stylish coiffure and added a red bow and lipstick to brighten my pale face. When I was done i swirled in deodorant because most of my perfume were making me nauseous.
"Hello," I said to Miss Tilly, I knew she wasn't going to leave till I came to the door and predictably, she was standing there, her hands folded against her chest.
"What took you so long and why do you have those paints on your face?" She asked me, a frown on her face, she certainly disapproved.
"Hello, Tilly. It's nice to see you again since the last hour. I am going on a date, as a girls girl you should be happy for me." I said patiently to her and she scoffed.
"Whoever told you I was that, don't go around spoiling your beauty. You know you still don't have a husband." She said harshly and it took me a certain level of newly found restraint not to say anything.
I sighed, resigned. "What do you want Tilly?"
"I want to go on your date with you." She said and just then I sighted Malcom's car pull up in the front yard. She also heard it to because her head immediately shot back. "Him again, I don't like him." She whispered.
"You don't like everybody," I blushed when he got down from the car looking so dangerously handsome.
"I hate him especially. I'm not going any longer." Tilly scoffed and I laughed.
"Are you sure? It's Chellar's restaurant we're going," I teased and she shook her head again, her scowl deepening.
"Good evening ladies," Malcolm greeted as he got to us, i watched Miss Tilly's brows furrowed as she walked to her apartment. "What's up with her?" He asked handing me the bouquet of flowers he brought with him.
"Thank you. She's jealous I'm going out with you." I lied and he nodded in understanding, it was typical Tilly behavior.
"Shall we?" He asked and I nodded as I headed in to place my flower in a vase and picked up my bag, i placed my hands in his as he led me to his car.
I forgot to pick up my phone and only remembered when we were halfway to the restaurant.
We settled at the center of the restaurant and made our orders.
"I think at this point I'm allergic to cheddar cheese and it's brothers." I commented as I sipped on my iced tea.
He placed his hands seductively on mine and ran it up to my arms before lifting his gaze to meet mine.
"Are you allergic to that?" Malcom teased and I smiled shyly at him.
"Not if you continue." I responded and we both laughed. I felt almost sad that he had not said anything about my look, considering I had put more efforts into looking good for him tonight.
"I don't want you losing control and acting out." He responded and I thought of how that was a dry and cold reply. Lincoln would have said something spicier, more carnal. But it wasn't Lincoln that was taking me on a date and making me feel special, it was not him at all.
"How's the office? How's Emily?" I asked him and he nodded, digging into the food. Maybe I was just being an over thinker but he seemed uninterested in me, it seemed like the love bombing was no longer there.
The door chimed and I didn't bother to look back like I had been before the meal arrived, I dug into my lam chops and was on the second platter when I felt Malcolm freeze, a shiver ran down my spine as my head shot up.
In front of my table, standing tall in his usual two piece, this was his favorite one because I had it dry cleaned once a month and he used it only for special occasion.
"Hello eliza," his voice drawled and my heart stopped when I saw it was him, my Lincoln stood in front of me, his eyes boring through me.
