Chapter 3 - The encounter

Tension filled the air. Arthur was staring, with eyes wide open, at the man in front of him who was assumingly dead, or here for at least two thousand years. Either this man woke up from the dead, or he just woke up from a two thousand year sleep. Neither possibility was better than the other, this signalled danger to Arthur. The man in the coffin was looking nonchalantly at Arthur, then losing interest in him, looked around him. He started to get out his coffin.

Arthur was ready for combat, ready to take the man to the floor and grapple with him or use the small knife that he always carried in his pocket. In fact his hand was in his pocket right now ready to swing at the smallest sudden movement. But one thing is for sure, taking the man head on with his Muay Thai, his main martial art, would lead to his loss.

Now that the man was fully out the coffin Arthur took a good look at him. His body was of dark complexion riddled with scars, scars made by sharp weapons all on his body except for his neck or face or the left side of his chest. The man was wearing some sort of baggy trousers with nothing on top, showing off his defined muscles. This man was obviously good in combat, lethal combat. Although Arthur has trained in Mixed Martial Arts and military martial arts designed to kill, he would not win against this man. The fact that he had no scars on his neck, face or side of the chest where the heart is shows that this man has good defence. Arthur knows just how hard it is to defend critical spots, and for someone who was obviously in multiple fights to the death not having a single scar on those critical spots, it just told him the man could not be beaten. He also couldn't be defeated because of his physique.

He was roughly 6'5, and despite only being taller than Arthur by a couple of inches, the pressure he was emitting made him seem like a titan. He had long limbs with big and defined muscles on them. Despite being relatively slim, he also seemed quite heavy yet athletic. The power and reach he had over Arthur just said to him to not try anything stupid. He began walking towards Arthur.

Arthur was now in his stance. He knew that fighting the man whilst standing was not a good idea just by his face alone. But now that he was standing Arthur also lost any hope of winning against him with his knife, so he was in a wrestling stance, ready to take the man to the ground and run out the first doors and seeing what he could do to escape, knowing full well that the chance of him succeeding were low.

'Damn me!' If only Arthur didn't go on his walk, this would have never happened. But he had no time for these thoughts, the strange man was now standing right in front of him.

Whilst striking a man first was not something a righteous man like Arthur would do, some situations dictated that he lands the first hit. This was one of them.

Arthur lunged at the colossus, trying to throw him to the floor and making a run for the opposite doors. The man didn't move and did not even react to that attack. Instead he just picked up Arthur with one arm and placed him on the side as if he was a little pet.

Arthur started thinking. Obviously this man had no interest in him, and now that he had a clear sight of the doors, he could run towards them. But if the man wanted to he could definetly catch up to him, especially with his weakened physique. Anyway there is nothing that can happen after he runs outside, so he just stood still, looking at the strange man who now placed his hand on the doors.

The doors flung open, in the same manner as the other other doors did. This time Arthur was ready and was not incapacitated. The man now for the first time seemed to fully acknowledge Arthur's presence, facing towards him and staring into his soul. Arthur was panicking.

He might have been panicking, but he was not showing it, he was not an amateur to dangerous situations. Whilst the man was looking into his soul, Arthur stared right back. The man had a pretty handsome face, with short black hair and amber eyes. His dark skin clear of any acne, definetly not what you would expect from an ancient person.

Arthur was ready for anything, but he wasn't ready for the man to give him a light smile. The man pointed at the door with a smirk on his face. His teeth barely showing but from what Arthur could see, perfectly well preserved as if he just had braces taken off. The smile annoyed Arthur a bit, as if telling him he was not worthy of a reaction for the stunt he pulled off second earlier, he was just too weak.

And with that, the man began walking to the other side.
