As the carriage doors swung open, Aurora burst forth, her eyes fixed on the hotel's glass doors. Her children's smiling faces were the only thing that mattered.
The quadruplets tumbled out, a chaotic bundle of energy, with Christophe trailing behind.
"Mama!" they chorused, surrounding her, clinging to her dress.
Aurora's heart swelled as she swept Lucien into her arms, relief washing over her.
"Everything is fine, don't you worry," she beamed and a desperate urge to flee took hold. She needed to protect her children from the grasp of her ex-husband, who seemed hell-bent on destroying the life she had rebuilt without him in it.
"It's time to leave, okay?" Her smile faltered as she turned to Sebastian, her expression darkening. "Where is Theodore and my carriage?"
Sebastian's lips curled into a sly smile. "Theodore will return tomorrow. For now, why not enjoy some family bonding? The children would love it."
