Jake was lounging in his favorite chair scrolling down his phone when it rang. It was Lucas. He paused disgusted. He answered and said," Yo what's up bro"? " Hey Jay, do you think you can get me to be the host of the upcoming business expo"? Lucas asked innocently. Jake rolled his eyes, he had no time for this. "Why"? he asked. "I just thought that with the upcoming project announcement, me being host will be beneficial and besides," Lucas paused and went on in a lower tone," Didn't you hear? Winter's been missing and the Owens are trying to be the hosts..." He was cut short by his brother who instantly replied," Wait what? The Owens? Like hell that'll happen," Jake said feverishly, cutting his brother short. "Let me make a few calls Luc," He hung up.
Lucas who was inside his own house, heard the phone click and smiled. His brother had taken the bait. He turned and looked at the two men sitting before him. Drake and Riley. It was time. Lucas looked at Drake and said," You look exactly like me." This was true. The sheer amount of work training as well as plastic surgery he had undergone to look exactly like Lucas was an effort in futility. He had the same blue eyes, the well built body, the same smile and hairstyle, even the walking and working were exactly like Lucas'. For Lucas, It was like looking in a mirror. The only difference between them was the voice. Drake's voice was slightly on a higher note compared to Lucas'. The difference was very subtle. To a person who didn't know them, you'd think they were twins.
" Any objections",? He asked the two men. No one spoke. "Alright, I'll take it that you're both in on this to its logical conclusion," he continued as he sat down and faced Drake. "I need you to buy time me and that's three weeks," he said quietly but in a commanding tone. " Why three weeks," Drake asked aloud what Riley was thinking. " Because I need to prepare for revenge properly this time. The first two were rushed and confused. I let my anger fuel me to do it irrationally. This time, I will do it properly", Lucas replied as his voice cracked around the edges.
Those few sentences were enough to send chills of fear down the two men's spines. They could feel an incredible amount of bloodlust coming out of the man before them. They say a wounded lion is the most dangerous. The man before them was the wounded lion and he was danger in all aspects. Revenge was never supposed to be methodical or carefully planned but, Lucas wanted to do just that and it was fuelled by rage. A rage that seemed to have him by the throat.
Slowly he leaned forward and, looking at Drake directly, said," As of now, you're me. You know the schedule and how you're supposed to behave right"? Drake nodded in agreement." Don't slip up or do anything out of character. Behave like the very puppet they think you are never give them room to suspect you." He said as he stood up. "Let's go Riley, I've got a lot I need to prepare." Riley stood and walked to the door. "Give us a twenty minute head-start before removing the magnet next to it," he concluded as he walked out the door that Riley had opened. They left.
Drake sat down and waited. 'To think they put a freaking microchip in him. Those bastards' he thought as he stared at the magnet in his upper arm being held by a bandage. 'They need to pay all of them' he thought as he opened up the bandage. Suddenly he stopped. 'If I open this now, I'll be Lucas in their eyes and I'll have to lose my identity all over again' he thought. Then he yanked the bandage off and the small magnet fell off. " I'll even play the role of a mat if need be as long as I get to see their downfall in all its glory", he said loudly at the empty room. His voice, exactly like Lucas'.
Three weeks to the business expo.
