Chapter 15 - Nighttime Shenanigans

As they finished their meal and movie, the friends decided to unwind with a night of karaoke and drinks.

But first, they had to clean up the mess they made in the kitchen and sitting room.

The room was a chaos of scattered plates, glasses, and snack wrappers, with the movie's empty popcorn bucket sitting on the coffee table like a symbol of their indulgence.

"Okay, who's going to clean up this mess?" Logan asked, surveying the damage with a hint of mischief in his eyes.

"Let's play rock-paper-scissors to determine the two unlucky ones," Mireille suggested, her eyes sparkling with playfulness.

The friends eagerly agreed and gathered around the coffee table, their hands poised for the game.

Kalina, always the competitor, focused intently on her opponents, determined to emerge victorious.

Mireille, on the other hand, was already planning her victory dance, just in case.

Logan, the self-proclaimed "king of rock-paper-scissors," was confident in his ability to outmaneuver his friends.

After a few rounds of intense gameplay, Kalina and Mireille emerged as the losers, their faces mock-disappointed.

"Aww, man!" Kalina laughed. "I guess we're cleaning up the kitchen."

Mireille grinned. "Yeah, and we'll make it sparkle like new. Maybe even find some hidden crumbs from our movie snacking extravaganza."

Logan cheered, relieved that he wasn't part of the cleaning crew. "Yes! I'm free to enjoy the rest of the night, karaoke and all!"

With a playful sigh, Kalina and Mireille headed to the kitchen to start cleaning, their banter and laughter filling the room as they worked.

Meanwhile, Logan settled in on the couch, already planning his karaoke debut, ready to rock the night away.

Later that night, after the karaoke session and a few more drinks, the friends decided to wind down with a relaxing bedtime routine.

They gathered in Logan's bedroom, each carrying a face mask and a cozy change of clothes.

"Tonight, we pamper ourselves," Kalina declared, slipping into a plush bathrobe.

Mireille grinned, applying a lavender face mask. "I'm so down for this. My skin needs some TLC."

Logan chuckled, his eyes shining with playful disdain. "Do you guys have to sleep in my bed and wear my T-shirts as nighties?"

Mireille slapped the face mask onto her face and said, "Can't blame us, your bed is too soft and relaxing!"

Kalina shrugged while fixing a face mask onto Logan's face. "Yeah, it's too comfy to resist."

Logan sighed, resigning himself to his fate. "Fine."

As they settled into Logan's bed, a cozy nest of pillows and blankets, they spent the next hour relaxing and bonding.

The face masks dried, and their skin rejuvenated, Mireille opened up about her new crush - the convenience store guy.

Mireille's eyes sparkled as she lay in bed, her face mask drying and her skin absorbing the soothing lotion.

"Guys, I have a confession to make," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kalina and Logan looked at her with interest, their faces illuminated by the soft glow of the bedside lamps.

"What is it, Mirei?" Kalina asked, her voice encouraging.

Mireille's cheeks flushed, but she couldn't contain her excitement. "I think I might have a crush on someone."

Logan raised an eyebrow. "You always have a new crush, last week it was Josh, the new intern." He teased, rolling his hand in a circular motion.

Mireille playfully slapped his shoulder, and Kalina chuckled. "Who is it this time?" Logan asked, his curiosity piqued.

Mireille's gaze drifted off, her mind lost in thought. "It's a guy from the convenience store tonight. He has dreamy eyes and a charming smile." She squealed in delight, her face growing hotter by the second.

Kalina asked, "A stranger? Is he adorable?" Mireille's face grew even hotter, but she couldn't help but smile.

"He appears to be. I was lovestruck immediately he appeared in my sight outside the mall."

Logan chuckled, "Let me guess, you immediately went back to the mall and spied on him while using your sly skills to get his contact info off the counter table."

Mireille's eyes sparkled, "Oh my God, yes! That is what I did on impulse, but I didn't spy on him as he was already at the counter."

Kalina laughed, "That's dedication. What's his name?"

Logan interrupted, "Dedication? That's giving stalker a new meaning!"

Mireille's eyes sparkled, "Tristan Mercier."

Kalina asked, "That is who you were searching for on Facebook during our meal?"

Mireille explained, "Yes! And I found his account, but he doesn't post much. The last time he uploaded was four years ago." She pouted sadly, her shoulders slumping.

"Such a bummer!"

Kalina added, "Well, at least she didn't stalk him to know his address or family."

Logan shook his head, "You two are something else. I'm surrounded by stalkers."

Kalina stuffed a muffin into his mouth, "I am not encouraging her, at least she didn't use her sneaky skills to hack into his social media accounts...yet."

Logan mumbled through the muffin, "But...but...she's still a stalker!"

Kalina laughed, "Oh, come on, Logan! It's just a little harmless crush. Mireille's not going to stalk him to his house or something."

Mireille playfully hit Logan's arm, "Hey, I'm not that kind of stalker! I just wanted to get to know him better."

Logan rolled his eyes, "Sure, sure. That's why you went back to the mall and snatched his contact info from the counter."

Mireille grinned mischievously, "Hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! And besides, I didn't even use my best sneaky skills."

Kalina chuckled, "Well, at least she didn't use her sneaky skills to hack into his social media accounts...yet."

Logan shook his head, "You two are something else. I can't believe I am friends with you guys."

Mireille and Kalina burst out laughing, their banter filling the room with a warm and playful energy.

As they continued to tease Logan, Mireille's face mask dried, but her skin glowed with a radiant excitement, her heart still fluttering from the thought of Tristan Mercier.

Kalina smiled, "Well, Mirei, it looks like you've got a new mission: get Tristan Mercier to fall for you!"

Mireille's eyes sparkled, "Game on, friends! Game on!"

Just then, Logan's phone buzzed, and he glanced at the screen with a mixture of guilt and excitement.

"Sorry, guys, I have to take this. It's my girlfriend, Sophia." He said, getting up from the bed and stepping out of the room to answer the call.

As soon as Logan was out of earshot, Kalina turned to Mireille with a conspiratorial grin. "Now, tell me, how do you want to connect with this Tristan guy? And show me his picture, girl!"

Mireille giggled and pulled out her phone, scrolling through her social media apps to find Tristan's profile. "Oh, girl, he's so fine! And his smile... swoon!"

Kalina squealed in delight, "Ooh, let me see! I need to assess the situation."

As they continued to gush over Tristan's profile, Logan walked back into the room, his face gloomy. "Guyyyyysss........?"

Mireille and Kalina exchanged a concerned glance. "What's wrong, Logan?" Mireille asked, her voice softening.

Logan sighed, "It's Sophia. She's not coming this month...again."

Mireille's expression turned skeptical. "What do you mean again? How many times has she postponed her visit?"

Logan hesitated, "Well, it's been a few times now. And honestly, I'm starting to get worried."

Kalina frowned, "I feel like there's someone else on the other side, Logan. I don't know what could be delaying her from seeing you, our precious baby...."

Mireille's doubts spilled out, "I told you, Logan! I think she's playing you! It's been two years, and you guys never see eye-to-eye. Something's fishy!"

Logan corrected her, "It's one and a half years, Mireille!. And I know Sophia would never play me. There must be a reasonable explanation."

Kalina added, "Yeah, but Logan, you deserve someone who prioritizes you and your relationship. Maybe it's time to re-evaluate things?"

The room fell silent, the tension palpable as Logan's face reflected his inner turmoil.

Logan's face fell, his eyes clouding with worry. "Guys, I don't know what's going on and I don't want to jump into conclusions. Sophia's been putting off her visit for months now, and every time I try to talk to her about it, she just says she's busy or that something came up."

Mireille's skepticism was evident. "I understand, you don't want to assume anything but that's a pretty convenient excuse, don't you think? I mean, it's been two years –"

Logan corrected her again, "One and a half years, Mirei!."

"Whatever!" Mireille waved her hand dismissively. "The point is, Logan, you deserve someone who makes time for you, not someone who constantly flakes on you."

Kalina nodded in agreement. "Mirei's right, Logan. You're an amazing person, and you deserve someone who prioritizes your relationship. Maybe it's really time to re-evaluate things with Sophia?"

Logan sighed, running his hands through his hair. "I don't know, guys. I love Sophia, and I want to believe that she's genuine. But at the same time, I can't shake off the feeling that something's off."

Mireille placed a hand on his arm. "We're here for you, Logan. Whatever you decide to do, we'll support you."

Kalina added, "Yeah, and maybe it's time to have a serious talk with Sophia. Get some answers, you know?"

Logan nodded, a determined look on his face. "You're right. I need to talk to her and figure out what's going on. Thanks, guys. Just talking to you both makes me feel better."

Mireille playfully tossed a packet of condoms to Logan, who caught it with a surprised expression. "Hey, Logan, I think you need these more than I do!"

Logan's eyes widened as he realized what he was holding. "Mireille, what the...?! Where did you even get these?"

Mireille giggled mischievously. "Oh, don't worry, I didn't mean to get them. I was trying to spy on Tristan at the mall and accidentally grabbed the wrong thing from the store shelf!"

Kalina burst out laughing. "Only you, Mirei, would mistake condoms for...whatever you were trying to get!"

Mireille shrugged, grinning. "Hey, at least I'm prepared for the future...or so I thought! But honestly, I have no idea what I was thinking. Maybe I was trying to prepare for a future with Tristan?"

Logan shook his head, chuckling. "Well, I appreciate the thought, Mireille, but I think I'll pass on these. Sophia's not exactly...you know...reliable when it comes to visits."

Mireille pouted playfully. "Aww, come on, Logan! You never know when you might need them! Besides, it will last a year before they expired anyway...I think."

Kalina teased, "Yeah, Logan, you never know when you might need to spice up your life...or your non-existent love life, that is!"

Logan playfully rolled his eyes. "Hey, watch it, Kalina! Something must have happened, I believe."

Mireille snickered. "Sure, Logan, sure. That's why you're still holding onto Sophia's promises, right?"

The friends erupted into laughter again, their banter and teasing filling the room with a warm and playful energy.

As they laughed and joked, the packet of condoms lay discarded on the bed.
