NOTE: i swear this isn't going to be long like the 8 day entity break
Fire crackled as a man continued to hold his wooden, fragile ukulele. As his blue, bright eyes glowed with the darkness of the room, he looked at the bandaged woman that sat next to her. "I wonder when she's going to wake up…" he thought to himself. Putting his glasses down, he proceeded to doze off next to the woman, exhausted from the massive getaway he had to execute to save her.
As the woman woke up, she scoffed. "Where the hell did Hakim go? Where am I?" she thought to herself, scanning the fiery room. Suddenly, the man emerged from the opposite side of the room. Equipping his glasses once again, he was met with a peculiar woman right in front of him. "Who the hell are you!?" the man exclaimed, laying back onto the floor due to the jumpscare. "My name's Hana Faimasa. I was just with a man named Hakim, but I passed out right after we exchanged blows. What's your name, and where the hell are we?" the man chuckled. Adjusting his bowl cut originated from his orange hair, he smiled at Hana. "Name's Xavier, Protector of the Phantoms. I found you lying on the floor after the battle, so I thought it would be best to spare you. Although I wasn't aware of the current situation going on, I retreated underground with one of my phantoms while you were unconscious. In other words, I just saved you from the hands of the Death Desert Government. Hana's neutral expression turned into a concerned frown. As tears streamed down her cheeks, Xavier proceeded to comfort her. "What happened to you back there, if I may ask?" Hana sniffled. "My family has been taken by my ex-husband, Hakim Faimasa. Now, there's no way to get them back!" she cried. Xavier froze. "H-Hakim Faimasa? The one with a bounty of 2,625,000?" Hana growled. "Don't talk about him in front of me! Anyway, how do we get out of here?" Xavier smiled. "We're set to resurface in about 30 minutes, although I was just going out on a stroll until I found you. As we speak we're over 1,000 feet underground, hiding from the government. Say, your face is familiar as well. What did you say your name was again?" Hana eyed Xavier as a layer of nervousness surrounded her. "My name's Hana. My bounty is 1,320,000." Xavier sighed. "Well, it's good you aren't out to kill me. Moving on, where should I escort you next? We've lost track of the government completely, and it's very unlikely they'll come searching for us down here." Hana frowned. "I would stay here with you, but I have some duties back in the city that I have to get to. I've formed an alliance with enemies of my clan, and I have to report back to them as soon as possible… Thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving my life back there, though! Without you, I would've ro-'' Xavier chuckled nervously, wiping off sweat from his forehead. "It's okay, Hana. You don't need to thank me." As the phantom continued to slither through the dirt, meanwhile in the city of Ironhold on the surface held multiple parties due to the capture of Hakim.
"HE'S FINALLY GONE!" one man exclaimed, holding up a bottle of wine in the air. Following his speech, what seemed like about 50 people continued their party in happiness. "We got one degenerate down! Now, all we have to do is catch that 2 million dollar brat who co-founded Aybara, and Death Desert will finally be brought to freedom!" As the celebration continued in the capital of Ironhold, 500 feet off the border of the city held Hakim and Hana, who had finally resurfaced via the phantom. "We're in Ironhold…" Hana said, looking at the big iron gate that surrounded the city.
Ironhold was one of the largest cities in the region with a population of about 10,000 people. The border was made up of thick, large, fences, followed by 7 staircases around the gates that led up into the city. Ironhold had its name because it was where the execution of Ikama Black's dad, Hacu Black took place over thirty years ago. Since then, the scaffold has stood vacant, marking a historic landmark that was broadcasted over 3 decades ago. Hana walked up to the massive city. "Thank you again for saving my life, Xavier. I will find a way to repay your kindness no matter what!" Xavier blushed. "D-Don't mention it, Hana. I wish you the best!" he said as she walked to the giant gates of Ironhold.
PRESENT
Kevin, looking as good as new, smiled as he looked out the window of the hospital. "Samantha, it's time to start the voyage to the final destination!" Gerald smiled. "I guess it is. We can make it there in 2 hours, considering it's 10:00 AM right now. The World Summit will also be broadcasted nationwide, so hopefully we sabotage any type of chaos before they happen. Kevin nodded. Although everyone was ready to leave, Samantha stood outside the hospital room as a random thought continued to linger in her mind.
CHAPTER 50
"I sense two different things. One is like there's an old friend in the area, and the other is like we're being chased by a large army…"
PRESENT
"Could it really be…?" she thought to herself. Adjusting her puffy hair, she smiled. "Alex, if you're really out there, I hope you're having a good time. I hope you return to Crystal City, though… And for the move we learned during training… the power is still too overwhelming for Kevin. Hopefully he doesn't use the form too early in his life. He can only use his maximum charge a few times in his life, too." As Samantha continued to worry, the thought of resuming their voyage lingered in the hospital room. "Let's get to the World Summit." Samantha thought to herself, opening up the door to the room once again.
