AURELIA'S POV:
"You do not have such power! The Don is under no inclination to do as you say." Lily says with a wide eyed expression as her breathing speeds up.
"Do you want to test that theory?" I ask with a daring lift of my brows. My mind runs a mile a minute trying to figure out how I will make this work.
If she doesn't agree, then my plan is not going to work. I'm pretty sure that there is nothing I will tell Alessandro that will make him do as I say.
"I don't — I don't," Lily starts to say but stops halfway, as a look of confusion flits across her face.
"Very well." I say with my heart in my throat as I turn my back on her. I head with quick steps towards the door, praying that she takes the bait. If she doesn't, I really don't know what I will do.
"Wait!" Lily calls out just as I'm about to step out of the room.
