Guan Shiqing was intently reciting the Heart Sutra of the Buddha Family, only opening her eyes when she reached the last verse. That was when she noticed, without knowing when, a man had appeared before her, and she knew he was the one she was supposed to meet today.
"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting," Guan Shiqing apologized.
"No worries, I haven't been here long either. Are you a Buddhist?" Chen Feng asked curiously.
"No, I've been a bit unsettled lately, and a master advised me that reciting the Heart Sutra could help calm me, so I gave it a try," Guan Shiqing explained.
"Reciting the Buddhist Heart Sutra can indeed provide temporary calm, but it's just a symptomatic treatment, not a cure. If you want a permanent solution, you still need to rely on yourself—the mind is the healer of all mind diseases," Chen Feng said with a smile, offering his advice.
