Chapter 5 - CULTIVATION

Like this another year went by. Within this time, Kirk had been training the same stance, however, that strike alone seemed to be a technique on its own as time went along.

Winter also trained Kirk in footwork exercises with Winter. Not surprisingly, he made exceptional progress in them, although not compare to the sword, it is quite decent.

"Today son, I would teach you how to cultivate. Take this book read it and tell me if you have any questions"

"Errn" Nodding his head, Kirk obediently took the book that recorded the various ways to cultivate.

"Alright son, I'll leave you in the courtyard to train all by yourself for now okay" George decided to give Kirk more space to cultivate so he would be surprised if he works another wonder again.

"To cultivate, one must first open up closed and block meridians in the body."

"Focus your attention to…." The more Kirk read, the more intoxicated he became.

However, he was still confused as to which method serves him right.

"There are three methods according to the book. The first would be Qi conservation, where one would accumulate QI in their body by using stimulants and finally, with that energy piled up, break through to become a cultivator"

"The other method is called the Transfusion method. This is a very evil way to progress as it means one would have to kill someone and use his blood as a sacrifice, accompanied by some formations , would transfer one persons cultivation to another."

"The last step, is to use a battle technique to break through to become a cultivator. However, the battle technique also tells how far you would go in the cultivation world. Only few people could have been said to go far in the cultivation world with low-level Battle Techniques as their foundation."

As Kirk read, the more disappointed he got, he didn't know where his disappointment originated from but he felt disdain for these methods from the depths of his heart.

Closing his eyes, Kirk decided to ask the old man since he knew he had a spiritual thought in his spiritual palace.

"Oldy, I need your help" Kirk said very slowly.

"Hmm?, when was I called oldy?, I am quite young you know, Hmph " The old man retorted , clearly displeased.

"Let me guess, you want to start cultivating but want to choose a separate part to do that yes?" The old man replied with a smile.

"Yes" Kirk replied.

"Good, there is another two ways to cultivate which has not been famous or written in your world. The first is by taking pills to stimulate your body. People of this sort are usually significantly weaker than others however."

"The last one would be Meditation. With this, you are supposed to derive inspiration from the universe in a very calm state and you would seek guidance. However, very few have ever succeeded in cultivating using this way" The old man replied.

"Okay, I guess I'll be meditating from now on!" Kirk replied with a smile and he slept outside, on the ground.

Waking up, Kirk realized he was no longer outside but in his room so he knew his father must have carried him here. Getting up to check outside, he now realizes how late into the night it seemed.

"Why don't I start to cultivate now and see?" Kirk thought to himself.

Like this, he sat on his bed cross legged, closed his eyes and tried to meditate. He would always get distracted however, not by any noise, but by the silence in itself.

Morning came very quickly and Kirk opened his eyes, filled with disappointment. Walking up to the training ground, he was looking for an excuse to give his father for not wanting to choose any of the three solutions and why.

"Son hurry come, today is a very important day" George smiled as he spoke, with Winter by his side.

"Have you decided on what method you want to use yet son?" Winter asked softly.

"No Mom and Dad, I want to have enough time to be able to choose for my self what is bet for me. Please give me up to one week" Kirk replied as he stared into the eyes of his parents.

"What is there to think about son, out of the three, only two are recommended. So it is either this or the other. As for the time it takes to cultivate, it is about the same since you'll be accumulating energy in both cases." George asked in confusion.

"I wish for one week to decide please" Kirk refused to reason with anyone as he replied.

"Very well son, Hope you come to a decision soon" George said as he watched Kirk once more, not sure what his son was thinking about.

One week went by in a flash just like that.

"Dad , I have decided to not cultivate any martial arts for now" Kirk told George as he came to his room.

*Bam *Bam *Bam

As though punched in his face really hard, George felt like he was being suffocated by someone.

"Wh-What did you s-say?" Colour drained from his face as he asked.

"I am still too young to cultivate and hence would love to play for sometime to enjoy my childhood" Kirk replied innocently.

"B-But son,in this world, when you become the strongest, you can play all you want" George decided to appeal to the child in Kirk, after all, most children would begin to rethink after they hear this.

"No Dad, I have decided" Kirk replied as he walked away fro his father's room

Over the past few days, He had be meditating day and night non-stop but he still could not feel any breakthrough in his cultivation realm.

He wanted to choose the normal way to cultivate, however, he knew doing that would mean he has choosen to bow his head to defeat. He had not even started cultivating yet so what does how bowing defeat mean?

Thinking up to this point, determination set in. He would take as long as he needs to cultivate.
