Chapter 15 - 15. The night and inside the ninja Nomicon

POV: FINN THE HUMAN

Was Finn blushing at that very moment?

Yes, yes he was.

How could he not when a perfect send of had turned embarrassing?

But who was he? He had gone through more embarrassing moments in his past life ànd never broke a sweat.

Finn never looked back; it would only make the situation worse.

Even when his whole face was turning red and even when Jake found amusement in what was happening, Finn refused to look back.

Jake had to have done that on purpose.

There could be no other conclusion. Finn would make sure to get back at him. The ultimate prank of pranks. And he already had an idea of cooking!

The shopping trip had lasted till sunset, and Finn was once more enjoying the view from up high where he was sitting.

He had failed in finding Choose Goose but his trip was not completely hopeless.

He had at least found a proper mapper. Finn would even say he had found one of the best mappers.

The fact that Cornifer was willing to go to dangerous areas to map them out only made it even better.

A map was something that he would not have to worry about in the future.

He then thought about the group of candle thieves who called themselves the hooligans who loved candles.

'What an original name.' Finn had thought sarcastically.

He had wondered what would happen to them. Would they go to prison? Probably not.

From what he understood of this world, there was no supreme law that governed the entirety of the land of Ooo.

The only type of law was based on each respective kingdom and what their princesses made it to be.

He, for instance, knew the Candy Kingdom had a prison, but the grasslands where the farmer's market existed were not part of the Candy Kingdom.

And then Finn remembered there was another type of law in this land. The parent type.

He should have probably told off the hooligans to their parents.

The surprising thing was that it could have worked. Next time, Finn would make sure to do such a thing.

" I'll get you back for earlier Jake. Soon. " Finn said and pinched Jake severely. He still felt petty about the whole thing.

" Ouch! It was worth it. Haha! " Jake laughed uncaringly for the small payback.

Jake enjoyed moments such as this. Hanging out with his best bro without a care in the world.

Finn was always cute when he got all angry, and that only made Jake laugh even brighter.

The beautiful sunset was a wonderful close to the day's chapter.

POV: FINN THE HUMAN

TIME: NIGHT

Despite having memories from this world for the past 10 years, there were still things that deeply confused Finn.

For one, where did things such as toothpaste and ice cream come from?

Who exactly made those things still exist?

Was it like some sort of still-existing corporation, or did the mutated humans make it themselves?

He wondered that mainly because, at the moment, he was brushing his teeth with a nameless brand of toothpaste.

Finn felt he would never really understand this world because it was confusing at certain times.

Was it truly a post-apocalyptic world?

Or was that the problem? He was trying to understand an illogical scenario using logic from his old world.

In reality, his deductions would have made sense In a way if magic was not present in this world.

His line of thinking was a problem he would have to fix.

Perhaps magic was the answer to everything. Magic and the existence of other dimensions open to this world. That could be a proper explanation.

And if that line of thinking was also incorrect, the existence of wizards could always be an answer.

" Splat "

Finn made sure to spit out the foam after he was done with his brushing.

And he admired his still pearly white teeth.

On their arrival back to the tree fort they had unpacked all that Jake had brought and stored most of the things in the cooler to keep them preserved or in the cupboards for easy access.

Jake then proceeded to make a dinner of mashed potatoes, rice, spaghetti, vegetable soup, and, for dessert, ice cream.

Jake had already proven earlier that he was a great cook and Finn was still impressed by what he was eating.

The mashed potatoes were perfectly mashed and with just the right amount of butter.

The spaghetti and the tomato sauce just hit the right spot in the taste buds, and the vegetable soup was like the spring-summer in his mouth, refreshing.

The rice was just that, bland old rice.

He would learn how to Cook. If he could cook like that, Finn would have a lot of motivation for it.

And when he remembered Jake's almost miraculous dishes such as the perfect sandwich and the everything burrito, Finn was sure he was in good hands.

The meal was perfect.

And Finn, after enjoying his dessert of strawberry ice cream, which agreed with his current palate, went to brush his teeth, getting ready for a long night.

He admired himself in the bathroom mirror in appreciation.

His currently short blonde hair, which he knew would one day grow to be extremely long. Finn was not going to give his hair to that ugly bald woman.

His bright blue eyes held a certain childish charm. And his slightly chubby cheeks.

Surprisingly as he had come to learn, his current body was fit for his current age. With hints of muscles in certain places.

That was just what the apocalypse did to you; if you weren't strong, you would die early on.

What truly bothered Finn was potential the tooth problem another version of him had.

He would make sure it would not happen this time, maximum tooth care for this guy!

If it was needed, Finn would even make sure to visit those ant dentists for a check-up. Maybe he would also help them with their worm problem.

Despite that, one thing was very clear. Finn was extremely cute, he would even say charming. And with the godesses' blessing and assurance, he knew he would be a hotshot in the future.

A slight red covered his cheeks as he thought about it, but why would he complain?

He knew what he liked and was ready to fight for it. Call him a simp, but in the end, he would be the one who would win. He would be the one with all his Waifus.

Finn had already accepted his misgivings of being attracted to more than one person in this world. He just had to get the people he was attracted to to also accept that fact.

Would it work out?

This was a post-apocalyptic world, and a goddess of love had blessed him, so he was confident of his prospect.

" I thank the great Goddess of love for her continuous Kindness and mercy, and I pray for her to remain young forever. " Finn said, his hands clasped together and his eyes closed.

Someone might have thought he was joking, but he was very serious about his future love ventures.

100 % serious actually. And he put his emotion into that prayer.

" Hmm. I look even more charming now. " He thought as he opened his eyes and admired himself once more.

The prayer must be working!

LOCATION: THE BED

Finn had moved from the bathroom after he was done with everything he needed to do.

He changed to his pair of reddish pajamas and was now sitting on the bed.

He felt sleepy, and for some odd reason, he felt that the day had been extremely long.

Or, more likely, it was the exhaustion finally catching up with him with everything that had happened so fa,r, from him waking up being wrapped like a mummy to the fight with the candle hooligans.

It was a long day

But he had some matters to attend to.

It was time.

Time for Finn to finally uncover the Nomicon and all the secrets it held.

Jake, surprisingly, the moment he had landed on his bed, had fallen asleep immediately.

He had shrunk to a smaller size to be more comfortable on his pillow bed.

So Finn had zero distractions for the night.

" Nomicon," He said, more out of wanting to than needing to.

As he had come to know, the Nomicon could read his thoughts.

The book once again found itself on his lap, where it had been earlier in the day, and Finn wondered.

Why did he feel as if the Nomicon was also excited for this very moment? It was a weird feeling, but it was welcomed.

Finn finally opened the boo,k and his head fell backward.

Landiñg softly on the bed.
