Chapter 5 - Chapter 5:The unexpected guest

As night fell over the city of Jaipur, Subham and his friends returned to their hotel after a day of exploring. The ornate corridors of the heritage property were dimly lit, casting eerie shadows that danced across the walls.

Dipika, feeling tired after a long day of sightseeing, decided to retire to her room early. As she settled into bed, the silence of the room enveloped her, and she couldn't shake a sense of unease that gnawed at the edges of her mind.

Alone in the room, Dipika tried to push aside her fears and focus on relaxing. She closed her eyes, hoping to drift off to sleep quickly and escape the oppressive atmosphere.

But as she lay there in the darkness, a sudden chill swept over her. A feeling of dread washed over her as she sensed a presence in the room—a presence that made her skin crawl.

Dipika's heart raced as she opened her eyes, scanning the room for any sign of movement. And then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw it—a shadowy figure standing in the corner, its form indistinct and ghostly.

She froze, unable to move as fear gripped her in its icy embrace. The figure seemed to sway in the darkness, its eyes fixed on her with an otherworldly intensity.

And then, with a sudden burst of movement, the figure lunged forward, its ghostly form taking on a horrifying shape. Dipika screamed, her voice piercing the silence of the night as she recoiled in terror.

Subham and the others, startled by Dipika's scream, rushed to her room in a panic. They found her trembling on the bed, her eyes wide with fear.

"What happened?" Subham asked, his heart pounding in his chest as he tried to calm her down.

Dipika struggled to find her words, her breath coming in short, ragged gasps. "There was... there was a ghost," she managed to stammer out, her voice trembling with fear.

Yuvraj, ever quick to mock, scoffed at her words. "A ghost? Come on, Dipika, don't be ridiculous. You're just being cowardly."

Ankan, sensing Dipika's genuine fear, shot Yuvraj a warning glare. "Now's not the time for jokes, Yuvraj. Dipika, are you okay? Did you see anything else?"

Dipika shook her head, unable to form a coherent response as tears welled up in her eyes.

Saheli, always empathetic, stepped forward and gently took Dipika's hand. "It's okay, Dipika. You're not alone. We're here for you."

Subham and Ankan checked the room thoroughly, but found no sign of any ghostly presence. Reluctantly, they returned to their own rooms, with Dipika opting to stay with Saheli for the night.

As Subham prepared to leave Dipika's room, he noticed something on the floor—a small drop of blood, dark against the pale carpet.

His heart skipped a beat as he bent down to examine it, his mind racing with possibilities. But before he could investigate further, Saheli's voice brought him back to the present.

"Subham, what is it?" she asked, concern etched in her voice as she noticed the blood on the floor.

Subham hesitated, unsure of what to say. "I... I'm not sure. It's probably nothing," he replied, his voice betraying his unease.

But deep down, Subham couldn't shake the feeling that their night was far from over, and that something sinister lurked in the shadows of their hotel in Rajasthan.
