Chapter 64 - Lesson

"How in the blue hell do you expect me to mount this horse?" I chuckled, "This thing's dick is level with my head!"

"That's my boy, Hades," Zeus corrected while patting the horse, "He's my Clydesdale. This is Artemis, an Irish Draught. I won them in a card game in Scotland."

I shook my head in disbelief, "She's nearly as massive as Hades."

 "Calm down," Zeus spanked me.

 "Uh!" I yelped.

"Stop complaining, and I'll help you up," he commanded.

I wanted to fold my arms in protest and walk away from this massive beast, but something in her eyes made me stop. Her pitch-black fur, eyes, and matching thick, long mane made her seem sad. I don't know how to describe it, but there was sorrow in her eyes.

I dropped my head in defeat before walking over to the saddle. I shoved my right black boot in while Zeus pushed me up by my rear. My hand seized the pommel as I threw my leg over the seat.

"See? Wasn't so hard," he boasted before mounting Hades.

 "Now what?" I asked.

"Grab the reigns, and she'll follow her brother."

"Are you kidding me right now?"

"Must you fight with me on everything?"

I closed my eyes and did as he asked. Artemis neighed before instinctively trotting forward. It was as if she knew how slow to move so I wouldn't get nervous. I rubbed her muscular neck as she leaned into my hand.

 "You're beautiful, aren't you girl?" I baby-talked.

"She usually doesn't like anyone riding her," Zeus interjected.

I looked over at him, "What do you mean? Artemis seems like a sweetheart to me. Maybe a little skittish."

"That's a result of her previous owners. They weren't the best people. Then again, mobsters never are."

 "What?"

"Hades and Artemis were squished in a small stall waiting to be used for whatever was deemed necessary. They could get away with just about anything if they wanted. The area up there is nothing like what we know of down here. There's more first and roads."

I began petting Artemis once more, "You poor thing."

"She likes you, though. I've never seen her let anyone look her in the eyes without trying to charge them. There's a gentleness in you, just like there is her," Zeus complimented.

"You don't know what type of woman I am," I chuckled.

"Maybe, but then again, do you?" he teased.

My jaw dropped, but I couldn't say anything. I don't know who I am yet. I'm still figuring it out, but he didn't need to know. Instead, I remained silent, with hooves hitting the ground, filling the silence between us. I studied the surrounding grapevines to pass the time as we continued farther and farther into the vibrant green rolling hills. The warm wind caused my dress to fly behind me, luckily the slits up to my hops made it to my crotch was still covered and secure against the seat. My hair whipped around, as did my dress, as the horses quickened their pace.

"Where are we going?" I broke our silence.

"If you're willing to ride faster, we can be there in no time," he smiled.

 "Okay," I agreed.

He hollered while jerking his reigns, "Go, Hades!"

Artemis responded as if the call was to her, and she started galloping after them. I squealed as my thighs tightened their grip, as did my hands, while she caught speed. The wind bellowing through my long hair, as tears flew from my eyes, made me forget about everything that was troubling me. Soon, we were out of the vineyards, entering the fields of green grass and meadows. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

I heard Zeus's muffled voice as our horses began to slow. I blinked away the remaining tears from my eyes to see another unbelievable sight.

 "Are you fucking kidding me?"
