Once we returned to The Baldwin's home, we both needed to cool off from the day. After stripping off our clothes, we both jumped into the pool.
"This feels nice," she sighed as we hovered in the water.
"Very much needed," I agreed, "So, you and Roy? Do you like him?"
"I don't know," she sighed. I have no clue what the situation is."
"You looked cozy in the limo," I teased.
Shoved water at me, "You did with Dimitri!"
I shoved back. We began a water fight; between the screeching and exhaustion, we gave up moments later.
"I can't believe you've been with them for six months," she commented.
"I have?"
"Yeah."
"I never stopped to think about it."
As we hovered quietly, I took a deep breath and submerged myself beneath the cold water. I haven't been this relaxed or stress-free for a long time. This was a nice feeling; I never wanted to let it go. As the pressure of the water bared down on my chest, I came up for air.
"Okay," Tanya panted, "I need to get out before I die."
We exited the pool and dried off with the beach towels on the lounge chairs.
"I can't believe it's been half a year already," I sighed while towel-drying my long mane.
"Do you like them?" she asked,
"Of course," I admitted, "I wouldn't say I love them, but I care for them. Perhaps Callista a little more."
"I don't think you could love them," she said, "But you can learn a lot from them. It seems like you already have."
"I never thought of it that way," I sighed before stretching out on the lounge chair.
"Move over," Tanya shoved.'
"There's plenty of other lounge chairs!" I pointed.
"So!" she laughed and forced her way beside me.
As our laughing subsided, we both got lost in the beauty of the stars. The ominous amount fo vibrant light dancing across the sky relieved my stress.
"You know that check is just the beginning," I broke the silence.
"What do you mean?" Tanya asked, looking over at me.
"Remember when we'd joke about owning our bar?" I reminded.
"Yeah?" she sat up, and I followed suit.
"Well, I'm sure there are other ways I can make more money," I confidently stated, "Maybe we can finally get that bar we've been wanting."
She shook her head in shock, "Really?"
"Yes," I nodded, "I've been standing still since my parents died. I'm tired of life passing me by. We could be so much more than just sexy bartenders. We know how to run a great bar."
Tanya sat there quietly in contemplation.
"What?" I giggled.
"If Roy and I aren't going anywhere in our relationship, maybe it can be beneficial for both of us," she said, "That's all I'm thinking."
"Seriously?" I was excited and yelped.
"Yeah!" she giggled.
We embraced amongst our laughter.
"Well, isn't this a beautiful sight," a deep voice interrupted us.
I looked over my shoulder to see both Roy and Dimitri standing there. Tanya grabbed her towel and quickly wrapped it around herself, and so did I. Only I ensured that Dimitri watched me the entire time.
"Back so soon?' I smiled while kissing him on the cheek.
"Just sent off Callista at the jet field," he replied.
"Oh," I pouted, "Pity, I wanted to see her before she left."
"She'll be back in a month," he smirked, "You can see her then."
"I should get home," Tanya told Roy.
"Of course," Roy nodded, "I'll see you later, Dimitri."
They shook one another's hands as I gave Tanya one final embrace before they left.
