Chapter 26 - Payment

I sat there alone in Baldwin's kitchen. It was the following day. Eric had a client, and Tanya had left with Roy, so I went home with them. Nothing happened, though; we just got back, and the sun was rising. I'm not going to lie; I wouldn't mind a line of cocaine right now. I was out of it from all the alcohol and being awake for nearly 24 hrs. I saw Callista sauntering from the stairwell, a look of victory in her eyes. I gave a devious smile in reply. She came over to me and pecked me on the lips before placing a slip of paper in front of me. It was a cashier's check for 20,000 dollars. I hid my joy. It was more than I thought she'd give me.

"Happy with the outcome?" I smugly asked.

 "Among other things," she giggled.

"They left together," I confirmed, "I was surprised myself. I wouldn't take him for her type."

"She's safe. We've known him for decades," she reassured me, "I can tell you care for her."

 "She's like family," I confirmed.

"So," I sighed from exhaustion, "What else can I do for you?"

Callista took a sip of champagne from her glass and set it down. Her eyes narrowed into slits as her demeanor changed from playful to business.

"What are you willing to do?" she asked. Her tone is now more severe.

"I'll let you know," I replied, "I'm still learning.

She clicked her red nails on the bartop, realizing ours were identical in color. "Yet you have a steep learning curve," she said.

"Do you have any blow?" I asked.

Surprise overtook her as she made her way over to her bag. She brought out a thick silver cross. She removed the top, revealing a blow on the tiny end of a scoop. Holy shit.

"Don't be addicted," she warned, "That's why most of the other girls left."

I looked down as she brought the scoop over to me. I inhaled, and the burning pain hit the back of my throat. I opened my eyes as she gave me a bump in the other nostril. An intense shiver rippled up my spine. An awakening rush of relief overcame me, and I felt amazing. My tiredness is now in the back of my mind as the alcohol faded almost instantly. So good. I looked her in the eyes. I didn't mind fucking. I felt great.

"Not now," she declined, touching my chest lightly, "I must take care of business. I'll be leaving for a month in Sydney on business tomorrow to secure large sales for us. Dimitri will be here alone. Be sure no other female is around. I want you to be the only other female he's fucking."

My eyes widened in response, "Really?"

"Yes, I don't mind if it's you," she confirmed. Now I have to go; Dominique is waiting for me.

Before she said anything else, she was gone from my sight and out the door within the blink of an eye. Was she so confident that even I couldn't take him from her? Was I that ballsy? That confident and cocky myself? I looked back at the check-in my hands; this was probably pocket change for them. My phone began vibrating on the countertop; I switched it over, and again, it came over my lips.

"Hi, Tanya," I said, sliding the check into my purse. "How was your night?"

"I'm leaving Roy right now, and he told his driver to take me anywhere. My son is at a sleepover with the football team, so I wanted to come over and talk to you," she said.

"Get your sexy ass over here. I'm at the Baldwin's right now," I invited.

 "They won't care?" she questioned.

An evil smile overtook me, "Not when it comes to me."

Tanya arrived 40 minutes later in the same outfit she had on at the party. There was a look of shame and satisfaction on her face and messy sex hair. I greeted her with a mimosa as she walked through the front door.

"Hottest walk of shame I've ever seen," I teased.

"Stop!" she cried, "Hangover and shame!"

I laughed in response as she inhaled her mimosa, "More!"

I made her another as she slinked to the bartop, "So, how was last night?"

She removed her sunglasses and, luckily, removed her makeup, so she looked refreshed instead of strung out from lack of sleep. I played some mellow saxophone on my phone while connecting it to the built-in speakers in the walls. I received a grateful smile in response as she drank one more mimosa.

"Okay," she started, "I'll take you back to the yacht party until now."
