Chapter 13 - The Novice Group

Today marks a week since Alexander has been wandering around Anvel City, searching for a guild to join.

However, there has been no progress, leaving him a bit frustrated.

"Skeba, do you have any ideas?"

"How about we ask Anna for help, Dad? Maybe she can assist us."

"That would mean joining the Red Sword Guild. I don't want that."

"Then how about your idea of going out and looking for some low-level bivorches ourselves?"

"Hmmm..."

Alexander couldn't help but ponder whether he should take that risk. If he continued like this, his life would be no different from when he was an ordinary human.

"Going out is dangerous, but around Anvel City, there shouldn't be any major dangers since most of the bivorches have already been hunted."

Alexander thought for a moment, debating whether to go out and hunt low-level bivorches himself or wait to join a guild, of which he had no idea when that might happen.

"There's no success without risk. I have to take this risk. If I stay like this, my life will be just like before."

Determined to change, Alexander decided he had to take the risk, no matter what.

"Skeba, let's go out and look for low-level bivorches to kill."

"Sure, Dad. I'm always ready."

Alexander and Skeba immediately set out from Anvel City to find some free-roaming, low-level bivorches.

Alexander didn't need much preparation. He only brought some bread and fed his cat, Lily, before leaving.

They then left Anvel City, deciding to travel towards the Vorvor Village area, hoping there were still some bivorches left there.

Their journey went smoothly. They safely reached Vorvor Village, encountering only a few wild animals that posed no threat to Alexander, who easily dealt with them.

"No bivorches were spotted along the way to Vorvor Village."

"You're right, Dad, but we need to be patient. Maybe near Vorvor Village, we'll find some bivorches."

"You're right. Hopefully, there will be some low-level bivorches there."

As they approached Vorvor Village, a loud roar of a bivorch echoed.

"Eh, isn't that the roar of a bivorch? Judging by the sound, it's a low-level one."

"You're right, Dad. Let's go there."

Alexander and Skeba headed towards the sound of the bivorch's roar. This was what they had been looking for throughout their journey.

Nevertheless, Alexander remained clear-headed and cautious as they approached the roar.

When Alexander got closer to the source of the roar, he saw someone struggling desperately against the bivorch in the distance.

The bivorch didn't look in great shape but was still better off than the man.

"Even if I die here, I'll take you with me!"

The young man said it with determination, as if those were his last words of encouragement. Seeing this, Alexander couldn't help but feel sorry and rushed to help the young man.

"System, perform fusion."

----

[Ding!]

[The host is about to perform fusion.]

----

"Bling!"

Alexander then found himself inside Skeba's body, rushing forward to assist the young man.

A floating red text appeared, showing the level of the bivorch Alexander faced.

"It's a level 1 bivorch. Luckily, the young man has already weakened it considerably."

"System, activate the Skull Slash Sword skill."

A long bone sword appeared in Alexander's hands, and he quickly slashed at the bivorch three times in succession, which was his current limit. He could only attack three times in one strike.

"Slash"

"Slash"

"Slash"

Alexander's attacks hit the bivorch, and blood flowed from its body, but it was still not enough to kill it.

"AWOOOOOOO!"

A furious roar echoed as the bivorch charged forward, headbutting towards Alexander's position. Alexander quickly jumped aside, narrowly avoiding the attack.

"Bang!"

The sound of the bivorch's headbutt hitting the ground where Alexander had just stood was loud.

"A very fast attack. Fortunately, it was already badly injured, or it would have been dangerous."

Alexander observed the bivorch's attack, feeling a chill at the thought of its power. If the attack had hit him, he would have been seriously injured or worse, and this was just a level 1 bivorch.

He couldn't help but wonder how powerful the higher-ranking bivorches were.

Alexander ended his thoughts and prepared to attack the bivorch again. He could only make a few attacks per day.

He might be able to force a few more attacks with the mana he currently has.

Seeing the bivorch close to death, Alexander made his final attack.

"Slash! Slash!"

"Thud."

The bivorch finally died and fell to the ground. Alexander had succeeded in defeating it.

----

[Ding!]

[Host gained +250 exp]

----

Alexander smiled at the system notification. Just by killing one level 1 bivorch, he was almost at the next level.

"System, stop the fusion."

----

[Ding!]

[Fusion will be terminated.]

----

"Bling!"

Alexander exited Skeba's body and stood beside her, feeling satisfied. Defeating a level 1 bivorch was a blessing. If it had been a normal level 1 bivorch, he might have struggled to defeat it.

Seeing someone helping him, the young man immediately approached Alexander, who was looking at the fallen bivorch.

"Excuse me, sir. Thank you very much for your help."

Hearing someone speak to him, Alexander turned to the young man. The young man seemed to come from a wealthy family, judging by his style and equipment. Alexander thought he must be from a rich family.

"No problem. Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine, but..."

The young man thanked Alexander, even though it was Alexander who should have been grateful for the EXP Points.

"Sir, can you help me?"

"Help with what?"

The young man suddenly asked for help from Alexander, nervously hiding something.

Alexander couldn't help but ask what kind of help the young man needed.

"Actually, I was with my group from the Red Sword Guild, training outside. But we were suddenly attacked by a group of level 1 and level 0 bivorches, putting us in trouble. I managed to escape and went to seek help, but one of the level 1 bivorches blocked my way, and I almost died, as you saw. Can you come with me? I see you can defeat a level 1 bivorch."

"From the Red Sword Guild?"

"Yes, sir, we are from the Red Sword Guild."

"Eh, is this a coincidence? Who is your group leader?"

"Our group leader is named Kevin, a beginner Rank 1 Warrior. My name is Lutta. We are a novice group formed by the Red Sword Guild."

The young man introduced himself and his group from the Red Sword Guild.

'A novice group, huh? This is interesting' Alexander couldn't help but feel curious about the group.
