Chapter 19 - Joining a Guild

On the other side.

Alexander and Skeba had returned to Anvel City after gaining nothing but the luck of helping defeat a dying group of low-level Bivorch that attacked a novice group from the Red Sword guild.

Upon returning, Alexander found a letter placed in front of the door of the door of his room.

"Eh, this is from the Blue Iron Shield guild."

Alexander picked up the letter and immediately entered his room, greeted by the soft purring of his cat, Lily, as he walked in. Fortunately, Alexander had given Lily a bit more food, so she wasn't hungry.

"I'm home, Lily. It seems like you missed me."

Alexander petted Lily, who seemed to miss him. He then sat on his bed and stayed silent for a moment.

"Dad, what's wrong?"

Skeba, who was nearby, couldn't help but ask, seeing Alexander staying silent.

"Did I get accepted into the Blue Iron Shield guild?"

Alexander said, showing the unopened letter to Skeba.

"I think so, Dad. Otherwise, why would they send you a letter?"

"You're right."

Alexander then quickly opened the letter from the Blue Iron Shield guild.

He thought it was unlikely the letter was a rejection; if they were rejecting him, they wouldn't bother contacting him.

The Blue Iron Shield guild was one of the guilds that responded when Alexander sought to join a guild, promising to contact him later. Most other guilds had immediately rejected him upon learning that he was just a Rank 0 Warrior.

Alexander opened the letter and paused for a moment to read its contents.

"What does it say, Dad?"

Skeba couldn't help but ask Alexander, who was silent while reading the letter.

"Hehehe, of course, it's an acceptance letter. As you said, if I were rejected, they wouldn't bother sending a letter."

Alexander then informed Skeba that he had been accepted to join the Blue Iron Shield guild.

This was exactly what Alexander needed: to join a guild and undertake missions to level up.

It was too risky for Alexander to go alone at this time, and it was also easier to level up by joining a guild and completing missions together.

The next day.

Alexander and Skeba went to the Blue Iron Shield guild. On their way there, many people were talking about shocking news in Anvel City and even around the world.

The Tiger Guild, one of the largest guilds in the world and ranked fifth, suffered a defeat while attacking a level 5 Bivorch city. This raised questions among many people in Anvel City.

The Tiger Guild, whose leader was a Rank 7 Warrior, failed to conquer the level 5 Bivorch city, making people feel something was off. Many rumors spread after their failure, saying that many of their members died and no ordinary mana crystal gatherers survived the incident.

Hearing the circulating news, Alexander couldn't help but wonder how a large guild like the Tiger Guild could fail.

"Hey, Skeba, what do you think caused their failure?"

"I don't know either, Dad. From my analysis, they should have succeeded, and it was unlikely for them to fail unless an unexpected variable appeared, causing the guild's defeat."

"You're right; as people said, something unusual happened."

Alexander and Skeba continued heading to the Blue Iron Shield guild after discussing the Tiger guild's defeat.

Alexander sighed, feeling very grateful that he hadn't registered as a mana crystal gatherer; otherwise, he might have met the same fate as the others.

Not long after, they arrived at a building that could be considered small, even smaller than the Red Sword guild.

Alexander and Skeba entered the Blue Iron Shield guild building. Inside, the building looked normal, though slightly smaller than usual. Inside, several people were chatting, and Alexander thought they were Blue Iron Shield guild members.

Alexander then approached the reception desk and immediately announced his arrival.

"Excuse me, I'm here to register as a guild member."

"Have you already been accepted?" The receptionist responded, asking if Alexander had been accepted.

"Here's my proof."

Alexander handed the letter he received from the Blue Iron Shield guild to the receptionist. It didn't take long for the receptionist to inform Alexander that he had officially become a guild member and could undertake missions and earn rewards.

Alexander was then instructed to wait as he would be welcomed by other guild members and introduced formally to officially become a member of the Blue Iron Shield guild.

Not long after being told to wait, a group of people gathered in the middle of the room. The number of Blue Iron Shield guild members was very few, only 20 people in total.

The central room quickly became crowded with Blue Iron Shield guild members. Shortly after, two people entered the crowd, one a rather thin man wearing glasses and the other a muscular man with a mustache.

"Everyone, listen up. Today we will welcome our new member who will join us."

The muscular man with the mustache then spoke and turned to Alexander. Seeing this, Alexander stepped forward and immediately introduced himself.

"Hello everyone, my name is Alexander Browman. I am a Rank 0 Warrior necromancer. Please take care of me."

Alexander introduced himself as a new member and a Rank 0 Warrior necromancer.

"Alright, now that we know our new friend, let's introduce ourselves one by one so Alexander can remember us."

The muscular man with the mustache then asked all the guild members to introduce themselves so Alexander could get to know them.

Alexander then remembered each of their names. As Alexander had guessed, the muscular man was their leader, and the thin man with glasses beside him was the vice leader.

Their names were Turtle Grey, the leader, and Andi Ney, the vice leader. Both were only early Rank 3 Warriors and peak Rank 2 Warriors, respectively.
