Chereads / Trash System: 10-Year Mission Yields Skeleton Warrior / Chapter 12 - The Threat to Humanity's Future

Chapter 12 - The Threat to Humanity's Future

After spending nearly the entire day strolling through Anvel City, Alexander and Skeba failed to discover anything else of interest.

Alexander felt increasingly perplexed; he had visited all the guilds in the city, yet none appeared to be suitable for him.

Most guilds required at least a Rank 1 Warrior to join, which didn't align with what Alexander wanted. He thought that as a warrior, even a Rank 0 Warrior, he would easily be able to join small guilds.

However, many of them rejected him, and only a few said they would contact him later for further consideration.

"Is being a Rank 0 Warrior no different from being an ordinary human? Why is it so hard to join a guild?"

Alexander couldn't help but wonder about it. He thought that as a warrior, even a Rank 0 Warrior, he would easily be able to join small guilds. However, many of them rejected him, and only a few seemed to consider him. It didn't make sense to Alexander.

Perhaps, Alexander thought, because they were in one of the largest cities on the northern continent, most guilds here had relatively high standards.

Alexander and Skeba then returned to their rented room, feeling that they had done enough for the day. They would continue their search for a guild to join tomorrow.

Several days passed, and now that Alexander had become a Warrior, specifically a Rank 0 Warrior, he still hadn't made any progress. He was still struggling to join a guild.

"Humph. If this continues, I might as well apply to be a mana crystal collector."

Alexander sighed, regretting what he had missed. If he applied to be a mana crystal collector, there was still a chance he could level up, even though the risk was also very high.

Even so, Alexander had made his decision and didn't want to regret it.

"Hey, Skeba, should we go out on our own and find some low-level bivorches to level up?"

"That's a good idea, Dad, but it's up to you to decide."

"Hmm, you're right."

The idea wasn't bad, Alexander thought, but he still had to consider his safety. If he hadn't thought about that, he would have applied to be a mana crystal collector long ago.

Alexander then stood up from his seat and decided to try again to strolling around Anvel City to find a guild to join.

"Skeba, let's go."

"Okay, Dad."

Alexander and Skeba are once again strolling around Anvel City to find a guild to join. Alexander hoped that he would find a guild to join this time.

***

While Alexander was looking for a guild to join, in a distant area, there sat a man in a very dark room where even light had a hard time entering. The man's entire body was covered in black smoke, and only his eyes, which were glowing red, could be seen.

He seemed to be talking to several individuals who looked like werewolves with giant, muscular physiques, almost like giant werewolves.

Although the man was smaller than the giant werewolves in front of him, strangely, the others showed great respect for him, as if he were their leader.

"My king, when will we annihilate all those humans?"

"Yes, my king. They are very annoying to look at."

Several giant werewolves expressed their desires to the man covered in black smoke. Among them, they continuously discussed a plan to annihilate the human race. Upon hearing this, the man covered in black smoke responded to them.

"For now, we will postpone it. There are still issues that need to be considered."

"What are those, my king?"

"Currently, among the humans, there is someone who can fight against me. It will be troublesome for us. We must first get rid of him, and then we can annihilate all humans."

"Is it true that there is someone as strong as you among humans?"

The man covered in black smoke then stopped speaking and disappeared from the sight of the giant werewolves.

"Is there really someone as strong as our king among humans?"

"I don't know, but we should listen to the king's orders. He surely knows what's best for us."

"Alright, let's go to the surface to stand guard."

The giant werewolves then disappeared from the room and went to the surface. The room they had occupied before was located in a deep-world hole, or what humans called a black hole.

After the man covered in black smoke disappeared from the sight of the giant werewolves, he was now in the deepest room of the black hole, where no light could enter.

Only his red eyes could be seen in the dark room. He then stood in front of a very large black egg, which, if people saw it, they would say was not an egg but a large black granite stone.

The man covered in black smoke then caressed the black egg, as if it were something beloved and important to him.

"I will wait for you patiently, my lord. When you rise, that will be the end of the human race, and our race will rule this world."

The man covered in black smoke then disappeared from in front of the black egg.

The black egg, which the man covered in black smoke referred to as a disaster for the human race, now waited for its time to rise.

No one knew what was inside the black egg except for the man covered in black smoke.

Now, the threat to the future of humanity loomed. At this point, no one has realized it yet.

People still thought they could defend their territories and fight back against the bivorches.

On the other hand, in an unknown area, a man who had reached his fifties but showed no signs of wrinkles on his face, which still looked firm and strong, was looking in a certain direction. His eyes were filled with determination and firmness, although it could be seen that he seemed worried about something.

"My intuition is bad this time. I hope nothing bad happens in the future."

The man said, staring in a direction that no one knew where it was heading and worrying about something bad happening in the future.
