That night, Elena stood in the portal room, waiting for Allen to activate the portal but suddenly she turned back, searching for someone.
"What happened, Elle?" Alisha, who was standing next to her, asked worriedly, looking in the direction Elena was facing.
"Nothing, I just felt like someone was watching us."
Alisha smiled lightly as she spoke in a gentle tone "Relax, it's impossible for anyone to be here right now. Mother has sealed off entry to this place for everyone for the time being, and no one will dare go against her word."
"Yes, Princess Elena, Princess Alisha is right. There is no need to worry," Allen chimed in, having finished setting up the portal.
Though still skeptical, Elena relaxed a little. "Probably, I am just overthinking due to my nervousness," she said, letting out a sigh and lightly smiling.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine," Alisha said, placing her palm on Elena's shoulder in reassurance. Elena nodded and turned to Allen.
"Uncle Allen, is the portal ready for me to travel?"
"Yes, Princess."
"Then I will take my leave," Elena said with a smile. She turned to Alisha, who hugged her and said, "Travel safe, and don't worry too much. Everything will be fine on your end and here. Just give us a call when you are ready to come back, and we will prepare the portal for you."
Elena nodded with a smile and went through the portal.
Once she was gone, the smile on Alisha's face disappeared, replaced by a completely serious expression as she walked in the direction where Elena had felt someone's presence before. She looked around but could not find anyone.
"Princess, there is no one here other than us," Allen said as he walked up to her.
"I just hope you are right, Uncle Allen, as even I felt like someone was keeping a watch on us, but I didn't want to make her worry, so I didn't say anything."
"If that's the case, rest assured, Princess. I will ask the guards to have a look around the palace to see if they can find anyone suspicious."
Alisha nodded and walked out of the portal room.
A few seconds after Alisha and Allen left, a person in a silverish black robe emerged from the shadows behind a pillar just a few steps away from where Alisha had stood.
"That was close. I thought I was done for today," the person in the silverish black robe said, letting out a deep sigh. "I have to inform the master about this," he thought to himself as he disappeared into that place like a shadow.
