"Do you want to be my temporary boyfriend?"
Her words left Liam in a state of shock and confusion, unsure of how to respond.
Seeing his reaction, Lea sighed and explained, "I don't know if I love you or not, Liam, but I can say for sure that I like you.
However, it's also true that neither of us can get into a serious relationship right now for our own reasons. So, why not be with each other while I'm still here at the palace?"
She paused, searching his eyes for understanding. "I feel that the memories we can create in these few days might be enough for us to move on without any regrets. So, what do you say?"
Liam stared at her, his mind racing.
"Do you really think that this is going to work Lea? It just feels like giving false hope to oneself"
Lea laughed self mockingly "Yes, it is kind of giving false hope but do you have any other way out of this mess we have put our selfs in?"
Liam just shook his head in defeat.
Lea got up, sat next to Liam, and placed her hand on his clenched fist.
"Liam, even though I know I can't be with you forever, I don't want to regret missing the chance to experience what true love feels like because of the responsibilities burdening my shoulders. If I let that happen, I'll only hate myself. So, even if it's just for a few days, I want to know what it feels like to have you as my boyfriend."
Liam placed his other hand on Lea's and looked into her eyes. "You're really selfish, Lea..."
Lea bent her head in embarrassment, thinking, "What the hell was I thinking? It sounds so stupid, even in my mind. How will he agree to something like this?"
At that moment, Liam spoke, making her lift her head in shock. "So, how do we go ahead with this?"
"You're really agreeing to my proposal?"
"Yes, I am," Liam nodded. "Anyway, what is there to lose? Like you said, we can at least feel what this is like for a few days instead of regretting it in the future."
Hearing his words, a smile bloomed on Lea's face, and she hugged Liam tightly. Liam was shocked for a second before he hugged her back.
"This feels really nice…"
"Yes, it does," Lea replied with a happy smile.
After staying in each other's embrace for a few more minutes, they sat back properly.
"We need to have some rules if we're going ahead with this."
"Rules?" Liam asked, confused.
"Yes," Lea nodded sternly. "We do not ask any questions about our other relationships, like the one you had with Aisha."
"I've already told you everything about me and Aisha."
"I was just giving you an example, stupid."
"You can just tell me if you don't want me to ask you anything about your fiancé…"
Lea glared angrily at Liam, but if one looked deeply into her eyes, guilt could be seen.
Liam laughed lightly and coaxed her to continue.
