Chapter 14 - 14. Pet Learning to Read

After signing the pet contract, Zion could now faintly feel the girl's presence.

She grinned happily and opened his cage the picked him up, speaking happily as she half carried, half dragged him out of the kennel.

He couldn't help chuckling softly at her enthusiasm. She showed him to her father who was outside speaking to a woman. The woman had red hair matching the little girls with light brown eyes, a heart shaped head and phoenix shaped eyes.

She also wore a long dark blue dress that hugged her curves in all the right ways to show off the ample giant breasts and the thick ass.

Zion gazed across her and while his human mind knew she was a beauty, he had no feelings other then appreciation for the woman.

The adult pair turned at the approach of the girl and the woman frowned a little before saying something.

The girl looked down at Zion then seemed to realise something and nodded to her mother before walking towards a tub that had a bucket beside it.

The girl placed him in the tub then carried the bucket which was half her size away. Zion looked at himself and realised he was quite messy, he still had singed fur and was covered in ash as well as... other gross things.

The girl returned after a moment, struggling to carry the bucket of water to the tub. Zion just sat and waited much to the surprise of the mother, even with the contract wild animals tend to fight a bit at first.

The father was just curious to see what else the fox would do. The girl finally brought the bucket over then after struggling to lift it up, she poured the water into the tub.

The water only filled up to his elbows but he didn't mind. He laid down and began to use his paws to start trying to clean himself. The girl giggled and called to her parents whole pointing at him.

They both showed surprised expressions this time. Once his fur was clean and the water was now filthy he jumped out of the tub on his own.

The mother brought over a towel and the mother and daughter pair both helped him get dry. Once he was dry he shook his fur and now that it was clean and shiny, the rainbow shimmer appeared again.

As expected though, they just brushed it off as a trick of the light. The girl led him into the house and showed him around.

The house has a large open lounge area right as you walk in with some couches and a fireplace. To the left was a room that had a dinning table and chairs to fit at least 12 people while a kitchen was adjacent to it for ease of serving food.

To the right of the living room, was an office room that had many books and a large wooden desk.

Upstairs were the bedrooms and a small room was set aside as a play and reading room for the little girl. Her bedroom was decorated with all sorts of girly things that just perfectly matched her personality.

Zion had trotted behind her looking at everything. When they reached the play room where books for children to learn to read were, his eyes immediately lit up and he rushed to them.

The girl spoke to him again calling him, "foxy". She pulled out one of the books and showed it to him. She wasn't bothered about the abnormalities of the fox she had signed a contact with and so she started teaching the fox to read.

When the parents found them they of course didn't think much of it and figured it was like when she had taught her dolls to read. They chuckled and left them alone.

Little did they know, the fox was actually learning everything that the little girl taught him.

A few days had passed since Zion had been purchased as the pet of the Veilstone family. Since he arrived the girl taught him to read and so he had now learned quite a lot.

He now knew these people were called the Veilstone family. The little girl was the youngest daughter, Sarah Veilstone. The warrior was indeed her father, Abraham Veilstone and the red haired woman was her mother, Lauren Veilstone.

He also knew that she had two older brothers called Timothy and Oliver but they were away for school and training and only came back during holidays.

Zion managed to read through all the children's books in Sarah's room in the last few days by reading at night when she slept since she managed to get her parents to let him sleep in her room, throwing a huge tantrum until they agreed.

Zion sat quietly at the last book as he finished it. He then closed it, picked it up in his mouth and gently placed it back in its spot.

He turned and looked at her bedroom door, 'I've finished all these book so I at least now understand the language a bit. But I need to know more about the world I'm in... I need more books. Like the ones in the office.' He decided to make a plan to get into Abraham's office tomorrow. Since the man would be out of the house until noon and Sarah usually bathes at that time, he figured that would probably be the best time to sneak in.
