Aileen hadn't really changed her dress, she found out that it had a skirt attached to it which had been thin and tight, and when they unclasped it, the dress had transformed to just above her knees.
Her hair was tied back and a long pin stuck in it that gleamed like ice.
She made her way to the reception earning bows and curtsies from everyone she passed by.
She found a waiter going around with glasses of wine. She picked one up as he passed by.
Aileen spotted her parents and her in-laws chatting, but she didnt see Daniel...
However she wasn't really looking for him, she was looking for Sebastian.
She began wondering along the huge crowd of people.
And then she spotted him. Dressed in red and navy blue, their national colors. His usual curly hair, his grin and green eyes that sparkled whenever he laughed.
He was speaking and then happened to glance up at her. Aileen looked away quickly and began walking away. She didn't know why she was walking away considering she was the one who had been looking for him in the first place, but now she was fleeing it was too much.
As she was walking away drunk in hand she ran into Daniel who was talking with a group of men.
She looked up at him wordlessly, and it was as if his eyes had told her to play along.
She took his hand and stood next to him as he spoke with other nobles from nations who had traveled to the wedding.
It wasn't until Daniel had excuses her that she felt it was safe to walk away.
The night eventually ended, but for Aileen it still wasn't over, she still had to go and get changed, take off all of this makeup, and take her hair out as well.
She was brought a thin and flimsy nightgown and robe.
The room they shared was larger, grander. The bed was huge and it had an amazing bathroom, the bathtub looked more like a pool.
After taking off her makeup and struggling to get everything out her hair, Aileen bathed to get the sticky feeling of the lotion off of her, to not feel drowned in scents and lotions.
After she was done bathing she grabbed a towel. Apparently someone must have come in as she also had under garments layed out for her.
But just as she was walking over to the bed to grab them, Daniel entered the room.
And there was Aileen, hair dripping wet down her back, and the only thing she wore was the towel.
She turned her head and helped as he looked up as well.
Before he could say anything she yelped and ran back into the bathroom with her clothes and robe.
About five minutes had passed and Aileen came back in dressed this time. She thought Daniel had left the room, but he was out on the terrace, leaning against the railing watching the moon.
He turned his back at the sound of footsteps. When he saw her he just silently walked past her into the bathroom.
Aileen looked at the big bed, but she wasn't entirely sure what to do, would she be yelled at for sleeping in the same bed, would he hurl insults towards her, what would happen. She decided to settle on a near sofa.
Aileen thought about when she saw Sebastian. His wondering eyes when he saw her looking at him, and the look of urgency like he wanted to go after her, but was never able to reach her.
About an hour had passed and Aileen facing away from view and nearly asleep on the sofa heard the door on the bathroom click.
It seemed as though he wondered where she was until he spotted her on the couch.
He sighed and shook his head, going to approach her.
"Get up" he spoke.
Aileen shifted and sat up, afraid to look him in the eye.
"Go to the bed."
Aileen suddenly felt a panic, why was he telling her to go to the bed... Doom hit her and she remembered her mother telling her about how one day she'd have to consumate the marriage in order to produce an heir. Seems like Daniel wasted no time.
Aileen started pleading, "Wait no please, I'm not ready yet, and you and I don't even have feelings for each other, I don't want to do-"
Daniel looked at her skeptically
"What are you talking about?"
Aileen stuttered, "I-I thought you...."
"I'm telling you to go the bed because I'm sleeping here, so take the bed to yourself."
Aileen stood up and he layed down where she had been and closed his eyes, seemingly showing that he was no longer conversating with her.
Aileen crawled into the bed and got under the covers and drifted off to sleep.
