Chapter 65 - Who Killed the Dragon

Lilith attempted to give her sister some water, but the ice beauty clenched her teeth tightly. Freyr, growing impatient, knelt down, grabbed a stick, and pried open the ice beauty's jaw. He then took the gourd from Lilith and poured some water into her mouth.

"Ah! No, you'll choke her!" Lilith quickly grabbed Freyr's arm, her large eyes staring at him for a moment. She then softly asked, "Are you upset?"

"Should I be happy?" Freyr shook his head. "You'd better think about what to do when she wakes up. Your magic isn't working anymore, and when she wakes up, we won't stand a chance against her."

He sighed. Freyr was truly conflicted. When he saw this unconscious woman in the sea, this was the very issue that came to his mind.

Should he save her? She wasn't an ally. What if she went berserk upon waking up? Don't forget, that night she had said she wanted to capture him to refine some soul essence... whatever that was, it was surely nothing pleasant!

But not saving her? Letting her die on that iceberg? Freyr couldn't bring himself to do that either.

Lost in thought, the ice beauty on the ground coughed violently and woke up, water choking her awake.

She coughed a few times, then quickly turned over and struggled to sit up. Her body, weak from prolonged unconsciousness, collapsed again as soon as she managed to sit up, but she was awake nonetheless.

"S-sister..." Lilith called softly, looking fearful. She quickly stood up and cautiously moved closer to Freyr.

"My head... it hurts..." The woman on the ground held her head in pain. "What happened... I... you..."

As the confusion passed, she gradually became more alert. She opened her eyes wide, looking at Lilith and Freyr. "You? How are you here? How am I here? Did you save me?"

Before Freyr and Lilith could answer, the woman suddenly remembered something. Her expression changed dramatically, and she screamed, "My dragon! My dragon! My ice dragon! My Sean!"

She looked devastated. Suddenly, her legs gave out, and she knelt on the ground, holding her face and crying loudly.

"My dragon... my Sean! My Sean..."

Lilith blinked, watching her sister's sorrowful expression. She couldn't help but ask softly, "Sister... w-what happened to your dragon?"

"...What happened... it's dead! Dead!!" The woman cried bitterly, pounding the ground with her fists, clawing and hitting it, unable to vent her grief. "It's dead! It was eaten by that monster! It saved me, and that monster ate it!!"

Freyr's eyes widened in shock!

A monster ate a dragon?

What kind of creature could eat a dragon?

Aren't dragons supposed to be the most powerful creatures?

Lilith's sister cried for a long time. Despite Lilith's efforts to comfort her, nothing worked. Her voice became hoarse, her eyes reddened, and she finally stopped when she could no longer catch her breath.

Freyr pulled Lilith aside and signaled her to be quiet. He asked seriously, "What exactly happened to you? What monster are you talking about? Is there a monster here?"

"Monster..." Fear flashed in the ice beauty's eyes. "A monster! Yes, there's a monster!"

She looked at Freyr and Lilith, then suddenly shouted angrily, "All because of chasing you! I rode my Sean, searching the nearby seas, and finally found this island. I thought you might be hiding here... but as we approached, Sean started acting strange. It cried out constantly, as if something here terrified it. No matter how I tried to control it, it wouldn't land. Finally, I used magic to force it down..."

Tears welled up in the ice beauty's eyes again. "It was my fault... I killed my Sean! My ice dragon..."

Freyr interrupted her coldly, "Stop crying! Just tell us what happened!"

The ice beauty glared at Freyr, then suddenly jumped up, pointing at Freyr and Lilith. "It's all your fault! Lilith! If you had given me that phantasm, I wouldn't have chased you here!!"

Freyr raised an eyebrow, feeling angry.

This is completely unreasonable.

But there was no time to argue. The woman's eyes flashed with hatred as she reached for her waist.

"Looking for this?" Freyr pulled out a green flute from behind his back. It was the ice beauty's weapon, which he had confiscated while she was unconscious.

"Hmph! You think taking my wand means I can't defeat you?" The ice beauty sneered, then shouted, "Come, Lilith! Even without my dragon, I can still beat you! You've never won against me!"

With that, she took a deep breath and began to levitate, chanting a spell quickly...

Damn it! Freyr cursed himself. He had anticipated this might happen! This hateful woman, after being saved, immediately turned on him!

As Freyr fumed, something strange happened...

The ice beauty, floating mid-air, suddenly faltered, her expression changing. She swayed, then plummeted headfirst to the ground!

Luckily, Lilith rushed over and caught her, the two tumbling into the grass. The ice beauty screamed, her face filled with terror. "What did you do to me?! My magic! My magic!!"
