"Hey, guys!" he called out, his eyes scanning the group before locking onto Aurora with an intensity that made her heart skip a beat.
The girls exchanged a quick glance before heading towards the school entrance, calling out a chorus of "see you later, Liam!" as they disappeared into the building.
Liam watched them go, his gaze lingering on Aurora's friends retreating form before he turned to follow Aurora with his eyes. He took in every detail, from the way her braided crown gleamed in the fading light to the way her eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief. Her white cropped top and high-waisted jeans seemed to glow in the evening light, accentuating her slender figure and the gentle curve of her hips. As he studied her, Aurora studied him also and met his gaze head on, her eyes locking onto his with a intensity that sent shivers down her spine. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the world around them melting away.
Then, in a low, husky tone, Liam spoke the words that made Aurora's heart race: "Little wolf..."
The sound of her nickname, spoken in that particular tone, sent tingles all over her body, from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. She felt a flutter in her chest, and her breath caught in her throat as she gazed back at Liam, her eyes locked onto his with a silent understanding that only they shared.
