"Little wolf..." Liam's voice was low and husky, sending a familiar flutter through Aurora's chest.
"Liam," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I was wondering if you'd like to come to my sister's birthday party next Saturday," Liam asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "She's turning nine, and it's a special night for her. She'll be shifting for the first time."
Aurora's eyes widened in understanding. "That's a big deal," she said, her voice filled with empathy. "I'd be honored to be there for her."
Liam's face lit up with a smile. "Thanks, Rory. I know Emma will appreciate it. It's going to be a special night, and I know she'll feel more comfortable with you there."
Aurora nodded, feeling a sense of responsibility and care for Emma. "I'll be there, Liam. What time should I come over?"
Liam's eyes locked onto hers. "I'll pick you up at 7 pm. And, Rory?"
"Yeah?"
"Wear something comfortable. It's going to be a wild night."
Aurora raised an eyebrow but nodded in agreement. She had no idea what to expect, but she was ready for whatever the night might bring. Little did she know, this was just the beginning of a special adventure…
"Hey, Rory, I'll walk you back to your room," Liam offered, falling into step beside her.
"Thanks, Liam," Aurora replied, smiling up at him. "I appreciate it."
"No problem, little wolf," Liam said with a grin. "So, have you packed up your stuff yet?"
Aurora nodded. "Yeah, I finished packing earlier today. I'm all set for tomorrow."
"Awesome," Liam said. "How are you getting home, anyway? Are your parents coming to pick you up?"
Aurora shook her head. "No, I'm taking the bus with my friends. We're all going home together."
Liam's eyes lit up with interest. "That sounds like fun! So, what are your plans for next weekend?"
Aurora thought for a moment. "Well, I'm coming back for Emma's birthday party, of course! I wouldn't miss it for the world."
Liam's face lit up with a smile. "Awesome! I'm so glad you can make it. Emma's really excited about her party, and I know she'll love having you there."
Aurora smiled back at him. "I'm looking forward to it! What's the plan for the party, anyway?"
Liam's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Well, we're going to have a big celebration at our house. There will be food, games, and lots of fun. And, of course, Emma will be shifting for the first time, so it's going to be a really special night."
Aurora's eyes widened in anticipation. "That sounds amazing! I can't wait to be there for it."
As they approached Aurora's dorm building, Liam slowed his pace, reluctant to end their conversation. "Hey, Rory?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks once again for agreeing to come to the party next week," Liam said, his eyes shining with sincerity. "It means a lot to me and my family."
Aurora smiled, feeling a warmth in her chest. "Of course, Liam. I wouldn't miss it for the world."
As they reached Aurora's room, Liam's pace slowed, then he turned and faced her, his eyes fixed on hers with an intensity that made her heart race. Aurora's pulse quickened, her senses heightened as she felt a sudden surge of electricity between them.
"Liam," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Liam's eyes flickered, his deep blue irises flashing to golden yellow and back again. Aurora's breath caught in her throat as she recognized the sign - Liam's wolf, Amir, was stirring, responding to the tension between them.
"Liam," she whispered again, her hand reaching out to touch his arm.
Liam's eyes snapped back to blue, his gaze burning with intensity. "Aurora," he growled, his voice low and husky.
The air between them seemed to vibrate with tension, the silence thick with unspoken desire. Aurora's heart raced, her skin tingling with anticipation.
Suddenly, Liam's eyes flashed to golden yellow again, his pupils dilating as he took a step closer to her. Aurora's breath caught in her throat, her body responding to the primal energy emanating from him.
"Liam," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
But Liam didn't seem to hear her. His eyes were fixed on hers, his gaze burning with a fierce intensity that left her breathless. Aurora's heart raced, her senses overwhelmed by the sheer power of his presence.
And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, the moment was over. Liam's eyes flickered back to blue, his gaze softening as he took a step back.
"Aurora," he whispered, his voice filled with regret. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..."
Aurora's heart was still racing, her body still tingling with anticipation. She knew that she had to say something, to break the tension between them.
"It's okay, Liam," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I understand."
Liam's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze searching for something. Aurora's heart went out to him, her emotions overflowing with compassion.
"Liam," she whispered, her hand reaching out to touch his arm again. "It's okay. Really."
"Thanks, Rory," he whispered, his voice filled with gratitude. "You're a true friend."
Aurora smiled, her heart still racing with excitement. She knew that she had to let him go, to give him space to deal with his emotions.
"Anytime, Liam," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "That's what friends are for."
"Good night, Liam," she said, her hand on the door handle.
"Good night, little wolf," Liam replied, his eyes locked onto hers.
But as she turned to enter her room, she hesitated. She turned back to face Liam, a mischievous glint in her eye.
"Hey, Liam?"
"Yeah?"
"Want to come over for dinner tomorrow night at 7:00 pm?"
Liam's eyes lit up with surprise, then delight. "Really? You're inviting me to dinner, little wolf?"
She smiled. "Yeah, really. I want to cook something special for you."
Liam's face softened, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thanks, little wolf. That means a lot to me."
"Great!" she exclaimed, her smile widening. "I'll see you tomorrow night at 7:00 pm, then."
Liam nodded, his eyes still locked onto hers. "I'll be there. Thanks again, little wolf."
As they bid each other good night again, their gaze lingered on each other for a while, the tension between them palpable. Her heart raced with excitement, her senses still reeling from the heated moment they had shared earlier.
Finally, Liam turned and walked away, leaving her to enter her room with a sigh of anticipation. She couldn't wait to see him again tomorrow night, to share a meal and some quality time together.
As she closed her door behind her, she felt a flutter in her chest. She knew that tomorrow night was going to be special, that something was going to happen between them.
And she couldn't wait to find out what that something was.
Liam's POV:
I stood in front of Aurora's room door for a while, my heart still racing from our heated moment earlier. I couldn't believe how close we had come to something more, how my wolf had almost taken over. I took a deep breath and pushed the thoughts aside, knowing I had to get a grip on my emotions.
Finally, I turned and made my way to the boys' dorm, my feet feeling heavy as I walked. I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had left something unfinished with Aurora, that our connection was still simmering just below the surface.
As I entered my room, I saw my roommate, Jake, lying on his bed, tossing a basketball up and catching it with a lazy grin. He was also a werewolf, and we had become close friends over the past year.
"Hey, man," Jake said, eyes fixed on me. "What's up? You look like you've lost your last marble."
I flopped down on my bed, running my hands through my hair. "Just had a moment with Aurora," I admitted, my voice low.
Jake's eyes lit up with interest. "Oh? Do tell."
I shook my head, a small smile playing on my lips. "Not now, man. Maybe later."
Jake nodded, his eyes understanding. "Okay, got it. But you know I'm here for you, right?"
I nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude towards my friend. "Thanks, Jake. That means a lot to me."
We sat in silence for a while, the only sound being the thud of the basketball as Jake continued to toss it up and catch it. I knew I had to get my emotions under control, to figure out what was happening between Aurora and me.
But for now, I just lay back on my bed, my eyes fixed on the ceiling, and let out a deep sigh. Tomorrow night couldn't come soon enough.
