Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

I averted my gaze, too ashamed to meet those penetrating eyes. How could I admit to the sovereign alpha king that I had tried to end my own life? That I was so weak and broken?

As if sensing my turmoil, Dante gripped my chin firmly, forcing me to look at him again. "Speak true, little wolf. I can see the pain leaking from your soul."

Trapped by his dominant stare, the truth came tumbling out in a breathless rush. "My mate .. Ryder ...he rejected me. Broke our mating bond. I... I have nothing left to live for."

Dante's expression flashed with some unreadable emotion. When he spoke again, his tone was softer but laced with steel. "You may have been discarded once, little wolf. But your life holds value beyond what any single one decrees."

His words shook me to my core. Tears burned in my eyes as a sliver of hope sparked in my chest for the first time since Ryders cruel abandonment. Dante regarded me with an intensity that both terrified and entranced me.

"Come," he commanded simply, turning to stride back towards the forest with me still cradled against his powerfully muscled chest.

Dante carried me effortlessly as we went deeper into the shadowy forest. I wrapped myself in his powerful chest, fully aware of his pounding heartbeat and his muscular scent around me. Despite his obvious alpha authority, I felt no threat from him , just a heated statement filled with confusion.

We fell silent, enveloped by the sound of owls and the rustling of leaves in the night. I struggled to understand this strange fate. Recently, when I was trying to shed my painful life, I now fell utterly drawn with this mysterious alpha king. The same raw intensity that first caught my eye was still smoldering in his steel gray eyes whenever he looked down at me.

Finally, we entered the moonlit area, and Dante gently brought me to my feet and paused. My legs shook slightly, unsteady as I was being carried like a child. His large hands gripped my shoulders and propped me up with a slight pressure that somehow felt like I had control.

"You're shaking, little luna," he murmured in that deep rumble. "Are you afraid of me?"

I shook my head quickly, then immediately wished I could take the impulsive response back. Was I truly not afraid of this dominant alpha male who could no doubt crush me with his bare hands?

Or was it the fact that I was scare to tell him that I had committed an abomination. I am carrying ryders child . The thought of been rejected by another scared the shit out of me. The thought of the Lycan king harming me crossed my mind but somewhere deeper, some long buried part of my instincts whispered that he meant me no harm.

"N-No, my king," I managed in a small voice. "I am pregnant." I said lowly waiting for his outburst.

One dark eyebrow quirked upwards. "Is that so?" His piercing stare seemed to delve straight into my soul. "Then let me clarify something for you."

Dante slowly closed the small distance between us until his hard muscles were on my face, his warm breath on my face. My heart hammered like a frightened dog. This close, I saw every speck of silver in his eyes, and I could smell his thick, piney scent clouding my consciousness.

"Your life is mine now, little wolf, your child is mine now " he stated with quiet intensity. "I claimed you the moment I pulled you back from that ledge. You and the child belong to me, he said placing his hands on my stomach"

His weighty words stayed on me like thick skin, simultaneously subjecting me to their enormity and totally overwhelming me. I shivered as the thought finally dawn on me. I was rejected by Ryder and suddenly The Lycan king accepted me just like that.

Lycan king Dante carried back to the pack , same place I ran away from. My heartbeat race as we got there. I think he could read through me and see the fears boldly written all over me.

He held my hands gently and whispered into my ears. "Do not be afraid, I am with you "

Immediately we got to the pack chaos and murmurs filled everywhere. The thought of the Lycan king in our pack marveled everyone.

What is he doing here? I heard whispers and murmurs. Why is she standing close to him?

Hey!! Get out… can't you see you're standing close to the almighty king?

Why carry your stinking self close to him.. few of the female wolves yelled at me

Dante drew me close by amist the hateful words they threw at me. He held me as everyone gathered around waiting to hear what he has to say.

I came hear to declare personally that this beautiful damsel here belongs to me now. SHE'S MINE

The pack fell into an absolute silence at Dante's words. I could see the confusion and disbelief on their faces, mirroring my own inner turmoil. How could this powerful alpha king claim me, a broken omega carrying another wolf's pup?

Dante's grip on me tightened almost protectively as murmurs rippled through the crowd. I caught sight of Ryder near the back, his expression twisted into one of anger and... was that jealousy? Our eyes met briefly before he turned away, jaw clenched.

"Silence," Dante's deep voice boomed out, instantly quieting the pack. "This omega was left to die, discarded by her former mate like a piece of trash." His words lashed out like a whip, making me flinch.

I moved back, feeling really embarrassed. I wished I could vanish. Dante noticed I was upset and hugged me tightly, protecting me with his big body.

"But I have claimed her un

His words carried the undeniable weight of the sovereign alpha king. The wolves began shifting uneasily until a deep, challenging growl cut through the tension.

Ryder moved ahead, his eyes burning with stubbornness as he stared at Dante. "That child belongs to me because we're family. You can't just --"

Faster than I could blink, Dante had Ryder pinned to the ground, one large hand clamped around his throat as he pulled him down. You forfeited any claim when you rejected her. Be grateful I did not tear your throat out for your actions."

Ryder struggled to breathe and nodded quickly, showing he gave up. Only after that did Dante let him go, standing tall and powerful. Nobody dared to argue with him anymore.

"The Lycan laws are clear, " Dante said firmly, not wanting any arguments. "These omega and her baby are under my care as your king , bound to me now. Anyone who tries to harm them will be punished by death."
