Flint laughed and said, "You guys really did that?"
Rowan crossed his arms, defending himself, "Hey! We were trying to get a better score in potion class."
Felix nodded in agreement. "Yes, exactly."
Flint shook his head. "Yeah, sure."
Flate chimed in, "How did you guys manage to fail an easy potion?"
Rowan replied, "Well, it was dark in the classroom."
Flate raised an eyebrow. "Wasn't it 12:00? You guys were outside."
Felix tried to cover, "Uh, well, it can happen to anyone."
Flate rolled his eyes. "Yeah, sure."
Thorn intervened, "Guys, let's not fight about this. We have enough problems."
Athena interrupted, teasing, "Like Frost."
Rowan, catching on to Athena's teasing, added, "Yeah, exactly like Frost."
Thorn snapped, "Shut up," and crossed his arms.
Felix said, "I think Thorn is right.
"Let's not fight," Flate suggested.
Suddenly, they heard an alarm and saw a brify flying around, shouting, "Guys, this is not a test! One of the time travelers has gone somewhere else. I repeat, this is not a test! They might be in danger, so if you see the person, report it immediately. Do not take any forward actions—"
The brify couldn't finish its sentence as a blue diamond stone flew towards them. The stone descended rapidly, hitting the ground and causing Felix, Rowan, Flint, Athena, Flate, and Thorn to fall. They were not severely wounded, but Professor Nightshade appeared just in time, snapping her fingers and teleporting them to the healer's room.
In the healer's room, the fairy came flying and exclaimed, "Oh, my mother of fairies, what happened now?"
Athena explained, "There was a stone flying our way, and when it hit the ground, we got wounded..."
The fairy reassured them, "Don't worry, friends, we can fix you up." She took her tiny wand and said, "Mothers of fairies, students are wounded. Bring them to the healer's room." They were immediately tended to.
Athena whispered, "Guys, we can't stay here. I want to know what happened."
Felix agreed, "Yeah, me too. It happened so fast."
Rowan hesitated, "Guys, I can't get into more trouble. My dad said if I mess up again, I won't get the new broom I wanted."
Flate teased, "Dude, you're boring."
Rowan defended himself, "Hey, I've worked hard for that broom!"
Flint teased, "What did you do to earn it? Clean your room?"
Rowan responded, "My mom promised me a new broom if I was good this year, so I agreed. The new broom can go 300 witch speed."
Flate smirked, "Pfft, my broom can go 600 wizard speed."
Thorn interjected, "No wonder we bought it to get away from the wizard police!"
Flate rolled his eyes. "You just ruined the moment."
As the fairy approached, they heard her singing and pretended to sleep. The fairy "woke" them up and said, "This magic soup will make you feel better." Athena thanked her, followed by the others.
The fairy smiled, "Don't worry, my friends. I'm happy to help." She flew off, and they all sat up straight.
Thorn then said, "Tonight at 6:987 magic mirror time, we go to the Eight Stones."
Athena hesitated, "But don't we need eight members for that?"
Thorn nodded, "Yeah, so?"
Athena pointed out, "Well, we are only seven."
Thorn said, "We need one more member."
Flate added, "Don't they need to be from the most powerful families?"
Everyone looked at Thorn, who exclaimed, "What?"
Athena suggested, "I think you need to ask Frost."
Thorn protested, "No, no, oh no. I am not going to do that. Not in a million years!"
Athena warned, "If you don't ask, I will tell the rest of the group what you said to me."
Thorn retorted, "Are you threatening me?"
Athena clarified, "No, I'm not threatening you."
Flate chimed in, "Sounds like a threat to me."
Athena defended herself, "Well, it's not."
Thorn rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed, "Fine, I will try to ask him if he wants to go with us."
As Thorn rushed to Evander's side, he saw a masked girl wielding a knife. She appeared shocked to see Thorn and quickly fled through the window. Evander, with his hand bleeding, tried to cover it with papers. Thorn, alarmed, explained the situation to the fairy.
The fairy assumed, "Oh, a crush. Well, you should still be in bed. We can talk about your crush later."
Thorn insisted, "No! I saw the girl in Frost's room."
The fairy, misunderstanding, said, "Oh, Evander's crush. Well, I can talk to him about it."
Thorn corrected her, "No! Listen, I saw the girl with a knife. She attacked Evander. I think his whole arm is bleeding."
The fairy then exclaimed, "Oh, my mother of fairies! We need to help him quickly!"
They flew to Evander's room, where the fairy saw him indeed bleeding. She quickly summoned a brifly and spoke urgently into it, "Professor Nightshade, the time travel guys are not the biggest problem now. There was a masked girl who attacked Evander. His whole arm is bleeding."
The brifly flew off, and the fairy worked to stop Evander's bleeding.
Finally managing to stem the flow, Evander woke up, his hand on his head, groaning, "Ugh, why does my hand hurt so much?"
He glanced around the room and saw Thorn and the fairy. Confused and disoriented, he demanded, "Who are you guys? Where am I? What do you guys want from me?"
The fairy tried to jog his memory, saying, "Don't you really remember him? He is your roommate."
Evander continued to protest, "What? What do you guys want from me? Get away! Where is father?"
The fairy exchanged a concerned glance with Thorn and explained, "I think somebody gave him the forgettable potion."
Thorn asked, "Is that a potion that makes him forget things?"
The fairy nodded, adding, "He will remember eventually, but it takes time to recover, like 6 weeks, maybe 3, or even shorter. It's different for each person."
Thorn pondered, "Who would want him to lose memories?"
The fairy shook her head, saying, "I don't know, but I think I have to inform his parents about this."
