Chereads / Felix's Magical Odyssey / Chapter 19 - 1.19

Chapter 19 - 1.19

Felix woke up and saw Lucian still asleep. He whispered, "Mirror," and the magic mirror appeared, showing the time. Felix then said a little too loudly, "Did we sleep that long? We missed a whole day." He shook Lucian and said, "Wake up, we have lessons."

Lucian yawned and, in a sleepy tone, asked, "What is wrong?"

Felix replied, "We have lessons." He took Lucian with one arm and walked towards the hall. People whispered as they passed, but Felix didn't care much. Lucian, still groggy, said, "Let me sleep, I am so tired. What does it matter to show up anyway? They don't even know I exist."

Felix then said, "Don't say things like that!" He stopped and looked at Lucian's face, sighed, and said, "Lucian, I don't know why you were crying, but can we go to our classes? Athena is gonna beat my ass if she finds out I didn't attend mix class."

Lucian, exasperated, said, "I want to sleep."

Felix replied, "I know, but you know we have lessons and—"

Lucian interrupted, "Why don't you go then? They do know you, Felix. They don't know me. I've never heard a teacher call my name. I'm almost always first in potion classes, but I've never heard a professor say, 'Shadowvale, you got the potion right, good job.' Even though I am always first! I even call them, but they—they never hear me. They always talk about you or your friends!"

Felix saw the anger in Lucian's eyes. Lucian then said, "Go to mix class and tell the professor there's something up with me, so I needed to go to the healer's room."

Felix knew this wasn't the best option, but he wanted to test if what Lucian said was true or if he was being dramatic. He went to mix class, and the professor said, "Mr. Ravenwood, one minute late. Well, you're lucky it's just one minute. Go sit down now!"

Felix, hesitant, said, "Uhmm, sorry, but Lucian could not attend. He is sick."

The professor looked confused and asked, "Who is Lucian?"

Felix replied, "Lucian Shadowvale from the Shadowvale family?"

The teacher still looked confused and said, "Do the heirs have a son? Hmmm, never heard of it. Stop making excuses, Felix, and sit down."

That was when Felix realized that Lucian was right all along. He felt sorry for him.

Lucian heard and saw a lady say, "It's time, Lucian."

Lucian replied, "What if I say no?"

The lady laughed sarcastically and scarily, "Hahahahaha, like you have a say in this. Remember, Lucian, they have all forgotten you here. Didn't you want to move to America?"

Lucian nodded. The lady said, "Good." There was black mist, and then she took Lucian's hand and left.

Back at Evander's room, Athena was walking in the hallway when she accidentally heard Evander and Thorn screaming. She heard Evander say, "I said I don't fucking know you all! You guys have poisoned me or something."

Thorn said, "Oh shut the bloody hell up! I told you 3000 times we did not poison you! That lady did."

Evander retorted, "Oh yeah, how do I know you guys are not bloody lying?"

Thorn replied, "Trust me and now get back to sleep."

Evander said, "You can't demand anything from me! I am not gonna listen to you."

Thorn then said, "Oh scary Frost? Scary you get nightmares?"

Evander screamed, "Scary me? Ha, you wish, Evernight!" They kept screaming, and Athena thought they looked like an old couple fighting about where they should go. She did not think that far and just went to her house hall, Silverspell Hall. She hadn't been there for a long time, maybe because she hung out with Rowan and Felix in their houses. She then thought the three of them hadn't hung out for a while. She then said to herself, "Hmm, maybe I should make a plan so the three of us can hang out."

Then she saw someone from Evander's house. He said, "What's up, loser?"

She said, "Stop calling me loser. It is irreticolly and not a nice word. You know, in the books of Recilia, the word loser is—"

The person interrupted, "Okay, nerd, better?"

Athena sighed and said, "No, it's ridiculous."

He then asked, "What's up then?"

Athena sighed and said, "Well, I am gonna make a plan for me, Felix, and Rowan to hang out again, just the three of us."

The boy said, "Wow, wow, stop there, chica. Why do that? Just ask them or something."

Athena thought about that for a while and then said, "You are right, Mercuiano. Thank you!"

Mercuiano then said, "It's not that difficult."

Athena said, "Well, it was, but thanks to you, not anymore." Athena walked away happily, thinking plan two must work better than plan one.

Mercuiano said, "She has many problems, but seriously, making plans for friendship? Weird."

When Athena was in her room, she waited and waited. Three hours later, she went to the room they had agreed on. She walked towards the room and waited for them to come.

Meanwhile, Lucian came back with scars on his face. He went to the forbidden room and cried. This time, the fairy was not there. He was relieved that he did not have to explain to her what had happened. He still couldn't believe he was betrayed like that. Oh, wait, he thought, maybe I should have realized this was going to happen. He cried, the blood still dripping down his face. He cried and cried. When he stopped crying, he could only think about how awfully wrong that went. He trusted her and then—then she said everything to his father. How could she? She said she would help him. Does everyone keep lying to him? Who does he trust now? How can he trust people when they betray him?

He still couldn't believe that had happened. He screamed and screamed out of anger and sadness. He screamed and then stopped screaming. He thought, I want to remember happy things. When was I last happy? He then remembered his mother baking his favorite cake. They ate it together and watched films about something they called "wizards without powers." There was also another name for it, which Lucian completely forgot. He found it funny and hated them for some things, but anyway, he loved the memory of being cared for that night. His mother made sure he was eating, and he was so happy with a mother like her. Lucian thought about all the memories when he was happy, but there were only two of them. He wished he could be happier, that he was noticeable, and that people would not see him as a shadow.
