"Aahh ... I'm so full! I'm heading upstairs first!"
After dinner, I returned to my room and turned on the computer.
Opening Discord...
"Hello, testing Iky! Are you online?"
"Hey Kir! Yeah, the mic's working fine."
The game download process started.
"Okay, Ky. Wait in the game lobby."
"Got it, I'll grab some event items first."
"Logged in, Ky. Which server?"
"..."
Eky and I played the game until midnight. Exhausted, I decided to sleep.
"Ky! I'm done for now, heading to bed!"
"Okay, see you tomorrow. Night!"
"Night."
I logged out of Discord and the game, turned off the computer, and went to sleep.
The next morning...
"Ugh... what time is it?" I groggily turned off the alarm.
"WHAT! I'm late!" It was already 8 AM.
I rushed, took a quick shower, and changed clothes.
Afterward, I went downstairs to have breakfast.
"Mom! I'm running late!"
"Where are you going? It's Saturday."
"W-what? Oh..."
How foolish of me not to know what day it was. My mom laughed. After that, I just ate my breakfast.
"By the way, Mom, where's Dad?"
"Dad left for Singapore early this morning."
"Why didn't he say goodbye to me?"
"I tried waking you up, but you didn't budge."
"Haha, yeah, sorry."
"So, how long will he be gone?"
"About 10 days."
"..."
At 9 AM, after breakfast, I changed into casual clothes. Feeling bored, I decided to go out for a walk to get some fresh air.
"I'm heading out, Mom!"
"Okay, be back by lunchtime!"
"Sure, Mom."
Walking outside, I inhaled the fresh morning air. Having nothing else to do, I headed to Eky's house.
"Ding, dong."
"Just a moment."
Eky's mom answered the door.
"Hello, Akira. What brings you here?" Eky's mom asked.
"Is Rizky awake yet, ma'am?"
"Hold on, I'll call him."
I waited for about two minutes.
"Sorry, Akira, Rizky is still asleep."
"Okay, ma'am. Sorry to bother you."
"Is there anything you want me to tell him?"
"Well, yes, could you please tell him to check the email I sent?"
"Sure, I'll let him know."
"Thank you, ma'am. Goodbye."
I stopped by the park and noticed one of my classmates, Vionna. I walked over to her.
"Hey, Vionna?"
"Oh, Akira."
"..."
We chatted about our surroundings and asked each other questions. Vionna brought up a virus.
"Kira, have you heard about the virus spreading now? It's scary!"
"Huh? What virus?"
"Here, I'll send you a video. Check the chat I sent."
"Wow, this video says it's already in China?"
"Yeah, what if it spreads to Indonesia?"
"Hey, don't jinx it. Let's change the topic."
We stopped talking about the virus and switched to sports since Vionna is good at basketball. We talked about basketball for about 30 minutes.
Suddenly, the streetlights swayed. A strong wind blew. Vionna and I moved to a safer place, realizing it was an earthquake.
But why?
"..."
"Vionna, let's run to a safe place!" I urged.
We ran to a baseball field near the neighborhood.
After the quake and strong wind subsided, I walked Vionna home since it wasn't safe to leave a girl alone, especially after a disaster.
"Ah, finally, you're home!"
"Akira, thank you for walking me back."
"Yeah, I'm heading out now."
After seeing Vionna home, I decided to return home as the weather was worsening.
When I got home, my mom was very worried.
"Oh my, Kira! Where have you been? There was an earthquake."
"Y-yeah, Mom, sorry. I was at the park."
The outside was dark. The wind began howling again. Clouds covered the sky.
While having lunch, I turned on the TV and watched the news.
"Breaking news! A major storm and a 5.0 magnitude earthquake have occurred. Citizens are advised to take shelter."
That was the news I heard.
As usual, I went to my room and played games.
