Ciara's POV
"Goodnight, baby," I said softly.
He jerked his head up abruptly and grumbled, "It's not goodnight already. It's just a quick nap, and then we'll leave."
I knew he had made that clear multiple times. He was simply resting.
"Got it," I chirped, guiding his head back to rest on my chest where it had been for the past few minutes, eliciting a small chuckle from both of us. I wasn't sleepy, but he was, so I let him get the rest he needed.

It was time for the unknown party he had promised to take me to, and I had no idea that he had gotten me a dress until I was out of the shower, toweling my hair and ready to dry it. That's when he emerged from a corner and wrapped his arm around my waist.
His other hand was hidden behind his back, and the eager smile on his lips and the glimmer in his eyes told me he had a surprise in store.
