Chapter 21 - Acceleration Exam Day: Meeting the Headmaster and Vice Headmaster

Christopher is currently sitting elegantly on a couch in the living room, waiting for Antonio to come down from his room so that he can drive him to his school.

He wore a black long sleeve and gray chinos along with a pair of leather monk strap shoes.

Today is the day that Antonio will be taking his acceleration exam so that he can finally complete his high school.

Moments later, he finally heard sounds of footsteps coming from the second floor.

"Are you ready now, Yoyo?"

Christopher asked when he saw his younger son coming down the stairs.

Antonio is currently wearing a simple black polo paired with a white slacks and leather derby shoes.

For his hair, instead of the half-bun hairstyle that he was used to wearing when he faces people outside of his family, he just lets his hair down naturally without any accessories.

"Yes, Dad."

Antonio responded as he hugged his father before clinging to the latter's arm.

Then the two of them walked out of the mansion and headed to the white super car parked in front of their door.

SSC Tuatara … that's what comes in Antonio's mind as soon as he sees the car.

"What is the brand of this car, Dad?"

He asked, feeling eager to know the brands of the cars in this world.

Christopher paused for a while to recall the name of the car.

"This is SSC Tuatara, do you want me to buy you the same model as this?"

He asked in a very casual manner as he opened the passenger seat's door for his son.

Antonio confusedly looked at his father before answering in a matter of fact tone.

"I don't know how to drive, Dad."

Moreover, he doesn't have a driver's license to do that.

He entered the car carefully and waited for his father to go to the driver's seat and maneuver it.

'SSC Tuatara … it's the same brand from my previous world.'

He thought.

This is the first time he encountered a brand in this world that has a similar name to the brand in his past life.

Christopher entered the driver's seat and looked at Antonio.

Antonio watches as his father's hands stretch past his face before grabbing something near the back of his head.

"Ah."

He muttered when his father put on the seat belt on his body for him.

"Thanks Dad."

He said after Christopher finished what he was doing.

Christopher ruffled his hair before putting on his own seat belt and started driving the car.

"Don't forget it next time."

Antonio heard his father say as their car moved out of their residence.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the number one school in Hermania City, where the original Antonio of this world spent most of his days as a high school student … Summit International High School.

Summit International High School is known as the most prestigious high school in the whole country of Grand Ashia, and there are two reasons for that.

One is because of the top-quality education they provide for all of their students that no other schools in the country can match up.

Second one is because of their students' status.

Almost all of their students came from families that belong to the upper echelon of society, with only 1% of the students being sponsored by a scholarship grant.

Their car entered the gates after the guard confirmed who they were.

Then, Christopher parked it in front of one of the largest buildings in the school.

He walked out of the car and opened the door for his son, who is busy unbuckling his seat belt.

"Thanks, Dad."

Antonio said sweetly as he got out of the car after removing his seat belt.

He glanced at his father and smiled internally.

Christopher wore sunglasses when he got out of the car, which added to his dazzling appearance.

They are fortunate that it is the summer vacation now or else they would experience a barrage of stares directed at them.

The two of them entered the building and proceeded to the sixth floor of the building, where the headmaster's office is.

Christopher raised his hand and was about to knock on the door, but halted when the door opened before them.

"Huh?"

A woman wearing thick eyeglasses dazedly mumbled while looking at them.

The woman gawked at Christopher before her eyes widened when she made eye contact with Antonio.

"Antonio Christian Legaspi?!"

She said in quite a loud voice, making the people inside the headmaster's office turn in their direction.

There are two people inside the headmaster's office right now.

Aside from the headmaster, there is the vice headmaster, who will be supervising Antonio's acceleration exam later.

"Hello, Teacher!"

Antonio greeted the woman before him who seemed to be shocked to see him.

According to his memories, the woman in front of him was one of his subject teachers during his early years in this school.

"It's been a while, Headmaster and Vice Headmaster."

Antonio politely said to the two middle-aged men inside the office.

"It's been a while! Please come in, sirs!"

"Yes, yes, please come in, both of you."

The headmaster and vice headmasters said one after another as they walked to the office door and opened it widely for the father-son duo to enter.

"Please bring some snacks for the guests, Ms. Mary."

The vice headmaster said to the woman who still looked shocked seeing the Legaspis before her eyes.

The vice headmaster then closed the door of the office as Christopher sat on a sofa facing the head master.

"It's been ages, Mr. Legaspi."

The headmaster greeted Christopher with a nostalgic smile.

Christopher bowed his head subtly before he spoke in a respectful tone.

"It's been ages, Teacher."

As the headmaster and Christopher started conversing, the vice headmaster took some documents from the drawer of the headmaster's table.

He walked toward Antonio who was looking around the office as if inspecting it.

Antonio was looking at the picture frame where he was in the middle standing with the headmaster and some students that looked like school leaders.

"Isn't that the time when all the student council members greeted you on your birthday?"

He looked behind him and saw the vice headmaster smiling at him while carrying some documents in his hands.

Antonio returned the smile as he replied.

"Yeah ... that's quite a memorable time."

He said as he knew how fun that time was for the original Antonio of this world.

That was one of his moments as a student council vice president.

"You don't know how distressed they were when they found out what happened to you, Antonio."

The vice headmaster said while staring at the picture with a sad smile.

He remembers how the student council members at that time fell into chaos upon knowing that their vice president who was supposed to be the next school year's president was in a coma.

"Here are the refreshments, sirs."

The woman called Mary served snacks and drinks on the table, which made Antonio turned to the vice headmaster with an expectant look.

The vice headmaster, who already knew what Antonio was going to ask, smirked and shook his head before speaking.

"Let's start the exam in twenty minutes."

With that, Antonio beamed and quickly sat next to his father who was conversing with the headmaster.

The headmaster smiled gently as he gazed at Antonio who took a waffle and bit it.

"You never change, my dear."

He said as he remembers how Antonio, back then, always came to his office to chat with him from time to time and demanded some delicious food from him.

Antonio just smiled brightly at him before continuing to eat the snacks on the table.

Christopher also smiled upon seeing his son eating with gusto.

"If that unfortunate incident didn't happen, then the three of you will become the first family filled with student council presidents of the most prestigious high school in history."

He said as he looked straight at the father-son duo in front of him.

During Christopher's high school days, he became a student council president at this school before he graduated with a reputation of being untouchable because of how efficient he is in his responsibilities.

Alden also became a student council president of this school and was known for his intimidating and strict leadership.

Antonio listened to the conversation of his father and headmaster for a while before he stood up from his seat.

"I'll go and take the exam now, Dad."

He said to Christopher and bowed to the headmaster.

The two adults nodded their hands at him.

He then followed the vice headmaster out of the office and toward the room beside the office.

It was the conference room used by the headmaster and other faculties of the school for meetings.

He sat down on the nearest seat from the door and accepted the papers handed to him by the vice headmaster.

"You have ninety minutes to answer all of the questions, sir."

The vice headmaster said in a very professional manner.

Antonio nodded his head before he began to fill up the papers with answers.

. . .

"How did it go, Yoyo?"

Christopher asked as they entered their car.

Antonio entered the car and didn't forget this time to put on the seat belt by himself.

"It went well, Dad ... Vice Headmaster said that he will update us tomorrow about the result."

He said as he watched Christopher maneuvered the car to the exit of the school.

Just then, his phone made a sound and vibrated in his pocket.

He took it out and opened it.

There was a message sent to him just now.

- How was your exam, Yoyo?

He read the message he received from Mikhall and immediately typed his reply.

- It went smoothly, Brother Mikey.

He replied then waited for a while before he received another message from the same person.

He continued to exchange messages with Mikhall for a while before he heard his father ask.

"Who's that?"

"It's Brother Mikey, he asked about my exam."

He said and saw his father nodding his head.

Christopher felt happy that his son and his friend's son are close with each other.

He opened his mouth to speak.

"If you go to the Grand Performing Arts Academy, you will have a chance to meet Mikhall there."

That statement made Antonio look at his father in confusion.

"Does Brother Mikey want to be an entertainer as well?"

He asked, wondering if Mikhall is currently studying in the academy.

He then realized that he didn't know much about his friend's whereabouts.

Their chats are just all about asking each other what they ate, how was their day, or something like that.

"No, that's not what I mean."

Christopher spoke as soon as he saw his son's puzzled expression.

"He is studying at the school in front of your future school."

"Does their school don't have any dormitories?"

Antonio asked when he remembered in one of his conversations with Mikhall months ago when the other said that he was going home from school.

'Does Brother Mikey go back and forth from Hermania City to Ondoa City every day? Or, do they have a house in Ondoa?'

He can't help but feel tired just thinking about it.

He then heard his father speaking.

"They do, but your uncle said that Mikhall doesn't like the dormitories there, so he always comes back to their home."

"Their home in Ondoa?"

"No, they don't have a residence in Ondoa, Mikhall comes back to their home here in Hermania after his classes."

Their conversation made Antonio feel pity for his friend, Mikhall.

"Isn't it exhausting to go back and forth between two far cities, Dad? Doesn't Uncle feel sorry for Brother Mikey?"

Antonio voiced out what he really thought in quite a passionate way, making Christopher furrow his eyebrows in confusion.

"Why would it be exhausting? Mikhall only takes forty minutes to an hour traveling between those two cities."

He said but Antonio just became even more confused.

"How is that possible? Doesn't it take six to seven hours from here to there?"

Antonio perplexedly questioned.

It's true that it took six to seven hours to travel between those two cities, that's if you were driving a car.

Christopher opened his mouth, determined to end all of his son's confusion.

"Well, Mikhall rides a jet to travel back and forth between his school and house."

"Oh."

That's the only phrase Antonio could mutter after hearing his father.

'Right, Brother Mikey's family is wealthy like that.'

He thought and then wondered if it's also possible for him in the near future to ride jets to get home here in Hermania after his class in Ondoa.
