Caira held the crystal aloft, its power coursing through her veins like liquid fire. Silas's eyes widened in shock, his face pale with rage. "You can't control it," he snarled. "You'll destroy everything."
But Caira felt a strange connection to the crystal, as if it had been waiting for her all along. She spoke the words of the ancient text again, feeling the power build to a crescendo.
The room erupted in a blaze of light and color, the artifacts shattering like fragile glass. Silas stumbled back, his eyes shielded from the intensity of the light.
When the light faded, Caira found herself standing in a vast, empty space. The walls were gone, replaced by a endless expanse of stars and galaxies. She felt the weight of time itself on her shoulders, the power of the crystal coursing through her like a river of fire.
And then, she saw him. Master Alric, standing on the edge of the void, his eyes shining with pride. "Well done, Caira," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "You've unlocked the secret of the Timekeepers."
But as Caira approached him, a figure emerged from the shadows. Liam, his eyes cold and hard. "You'll never leave this place alive," he snarled, his hand on the hilt of his sword.
Caira stood tall, the crystal still clutched in her hand. "I won't let you stop me," she said, her voice firm.
Liam sneered. "You're no match for me," he said, drawing his sword.
Caira raised her hand, and a blast of energy shot out, striking Liam with incredible force. He stumbled back, his sword falling from his grasp.
Silas took advantage of the distraction to attack, his own sword flashing in the dim light. Caira parried his blows, her heart pounding in her chest.
Master Alric watched, his eyes narrowed. "Finish it," he said, his voice cold.
Caira hesitated, unsure. But then she saw the look in Silas's eyes, the ambition and greed. She knew she had to stop him.
With a swift motion, she struck, her sword slicing through the air. Silas tried to parry, but Caira's blow was too strong. He fell to the ground, defeated.
Liam struggled to his feet, his eyes blazing with anger. "You'll pay for this," he snarled, before disappearing into the shadows.
Caira stood tall, her chest heaving. She had done it. She had unlocked the secret of the Timekeepers.
But as she turned to Master Alric, she saw a look of sadness in his eyes. "It's not over yet," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "The true challenge is only just beginning."
And with that, everything went black.
